Diambars Update (16/05/2013 15:35)

Today I met with Jimmy Adjovi Bocco, one of the founders and the General Manager for Diambars International. It is with great pleasure I see that Diambars has achieved great results with students and football players in both Senegal and South Afrtica over the last 10 years. They are now looking to expand their involvment to more African countries. Jimmy will be meeting the presidencies for these countries in the coming months.

Their model for educating youth based on their passion for football is showing financial sustainability, as the football clubs hiring their players needs to pay educational fees. In addition the Diambars Institute hires all their employees (except some teachers) locally in and around Saly. This leads to the continued financial growth and  increased  employment in the community.

I also met a 23 year old Diambars student called Aly. He grew up as an orphan in poverty - but had a dream of becoming a proffesional fotballer. He saw a video from Diambars in a shop windows some years ago, and decided that he should try to get a place in the school and was accepted.

He managed this - despite his average football skills. Now he is studying IT in Paris and is no longer dreaming of being a proffesional footballer, but rather to help other kids in the situation he grew up, through completing his education and contributing with his skills, effort and knowledge in Senegal. This is a perfect example on what the goals of Diambars are

The institute in Senegal is now also hosting and educating girls. They are looking for a more permanent solution than todays internships, but this needs more planning and time - to make this part of the school sustainable as well.  The Girls Project is the part of Diambars to which ManagerLeague has and will contribute. We agreed the next transferral of funds will be taking place when they have decided and planned a permanent solution for the Diambars Girls School. I hope that many of you will contribute with credit donations to the Diambars (Team:31641). All donated credits will be converted to cash by Fifth Season.

But, Diambars International also needs some more help. As many of you have noted, their English web site has not been updated for ages. The web site is administered by students in France and updated frequently - however, they do not speak English - and Diambars International does not have the money to hire translators as all their earnings are dedicated to the educational projects. I hope that we in our community can find one volunteer that is fluent in English and French is able to help them. Payment will be done in ManagerLeague credits from me! Anyone who has the required skills and wants to contribute can PM me.

Thanks to all of you who has supported the project so far!

Regards
Chairman

MANAGERLEAGUE CELEBRATES ITS 100TH SEASON (25/04/2013 14:49)

The online browser-game ManagerLeague is entering its 100th online season. Since the launch of the game in September 2005 almost 1.000.000 people from over 180 countries have played the game. Today, there are 45.000 active players, and the 'oldest' players have been with the game since launch.

Developer Christian Lassem says: 'The fact that we've managed to entertain so many people for so many years is a clear indication that there are a lot of people out there with a passion for manager-games. We work continuously on improving our product to satisfy an increasingly demanding audience. Since the launch of the game we have revised the match simulator 14 times. In addition, we have made major revisions to the graphics, the user interface, tactical options and the transfer market. The constant rejuvenation of the game has contributed to keeping players interested, and I'm hoping that the surprises we have planned for season 100 will add to that.'

ManagerLeague is a football manager game that uses virtual players, rather than actual players. Your abilities as a manager determine the development and success of both your players and the team as a whole. The matches are played in both a league system and a cup system involving players from all over the globe. Two matches are played each weekday, and each season lasts four weeks.

About Fifth Season AS

Fifth Season was founded in Oslo in 1999, and is developing and maintaining web-based massively multi-player online games. The company has at present 4 employees.

Planetarion was the first game released by Fifth Season in 2000. This browser-based game was a huge success, and had, at its peak, over 180.000 active players, which was more than 3 times more than any competitors. The game was later sold to another company.

ManagerLeague was launched in 2005, and is still played by thousands of players all over the world.

In 2010, the company began work on its third title, the sci-fi game AD2460. It is set to reinvent and reboot the genre originally defined by Planetarion. AD2460 is expected to launch in 2013.

A few days of my life - impressions for a lifetime (04/04/2011 12:24)

A few days of my life - impressions for a lifetime

Upon departure for Saly in Senegal last Monday, I was very excited. Excited about what would meet me. How would I respond to what I was about to see? Today is Saturday, and I am back in Norway. Very happy for being back, and extremely grateful for myself and my children growing up here in a safe environment, with social systems and schools giving us the opportunity to choose to realize our dreams.

What we saw in Senegal was a lot of the opposite. Not many schools, an everyday fight to get food and shelter, but still children (and grown ups) with a smile around their face combined with a friendliness impossible to describe. Today I feel a lot richer in life, knowing that myself and the ManagerLeague community have seized the possibility to help some of these people in getting a life with dignity and where they can provide for their families.

Diambars is based on giving children education through their passion for football. Children tend to dream about their future; a future where they are champions in life. Not everyone can become football champions, and those who lack the required skills, will still get an education, in order to become champions of life. In the school, one hour of football, means one hour of studying theory as well. No school – no football!

The institute in Saly is now self sustainable, meaning that the running costs are covered by the income the institute generates. The school now employs 80 people locally! The next step is now to start building the girls-school and “satellites” on 16 different locations in Senegal. These satellites will be able to host 200 students every day, giving 3200 people daily education. The girls-school that will be build next to the boys-school, needs to find a model on how to cover the running costs through operations or additional funding.

We had a ceremony on Wednesday where we launched the start of this project. Some of the girls who will attend the school was there and had a football session with some of the female players on the Norwegian National team. The pride and gratefulness they showed was fantastic. I held a short speech after the match and the project has now officially started.

On Thursday, we went for a trip to see how the inhabitants lived. We saw a lot of poverty and some sights I will never forget. Yet, again, the friendliness of the people was still there. We have a lot to learn from this culture.

We also visited the Tromsø player "Kara"s home. His family brought us straight in to their house and showed us their new living room with a new sofa and a picture of Kara in his Tromsø football shirt as the only picture on the wall.

Shortly after, the whole family and our group of people where dancing to African rhythms and singing on their doorstep – absolutely fantastic (and not possible to describe)! As he has become a professional footballer, he is now also able to secure the future for his family back home in Senegal. Karas signing has also given valuable income to the Diambars Institute.

In the end this all leads to me asking myself – how can we contribute more? The most important thing we can do is  giving money to secure a future for the next generations by building schools and providing jobs. In addition to that, our clothes that we do not use anymore is very much needed. Many people do not have proper clothing and I am sure that we throw away a lot of clothes that would be seen as luxury items in Senegal.

The clothes are difficult for us to organize through ManagerLeague, but I know that both I, personally, and Fifth Season will continue to support Diambars and to make sure that the girls-school will give education to Senegalese girls with a passion for life and football! I am proud of all the donations coming from our community so far, and I hope that I can be equally proud next time I go to visit the Diambars academy!

My speech:

I have a dream, about life. Children have dreams, about their future!

Making these dreams come through is often a question of getting the right education. You need education to become a doctor, you need education to become a footballer. What kind of education varies, but in the end, we all need education to succeed in life!

My dream is about giving both boys and girls the same opportunities to fulfill their dreams and to succeed in life. And with this school, I hope that my passion for giving equal rights to proper education, will lead to equal success in life!

So let us fulfill our dreams, both the ones about life all those about the future!

Thank you all for supporting us in supporting Diambars! Let us all continue to do so!

Yours truly,
Chairman

Diambars Press Release (17/03/2010 15:22)

Diambars has been present in Norway for the most popular tournemant in the world since 2004; Norway Cup. For the last couple of years a lot of great people have been joining our project as ambassadors. I'm really proud to have one of my best friends (I can say my brother now) as our main ambassador : DAGFINN ENERLY.

Today we are coming to the next step: one of our player signed a 4 years contract with TROMSØ. His name is Kara MBODJI.

KARA is a player who represents all the values of Diambars. He is a real "warrior", embodying the meaning we always tried to give this word. He will never give up, and will always give 100% for his club. As you will see during the season, Kara is not only a warrior, he is a really nice guy and a very good teammate. We are proud to see that our first player signed for a Norwegian team is doing so well, but we know that the most important thing is what he will do for the team in the coming months.

Foto: Ronald Johansen/iTromsø

I really want to thank Managerleague and all the players for their support. I'm sure you'll be very enthusiastic when you see him on TV or at the stadium. He will be our ambassador, and he knows what that means for the work we are doing all over the world with UNESCO.

Many thanks and all the best for your season,

Jean-Marc ADJOVI-BOCO

50 Achievements Complete! (15/03/2010 15:22)

We've got our first official player to reach 50 completed achievements. It's been announced for a while that we would do something special for the first player to reach this goal, and it's time to make good on those promises.

First of all, we would like to congratulate RO DreamTeam and the manager Porcus on winning our little challenge. Well done!

As it happens, David Trezeguet has donated a signed jersey to the Diambars project, who in turn have given this shirt to us. And now it will be handed over to Porcus. Below are a couple of pictures of the prize, which will be in the mail shortly.

The Diambars project is still active in ManagerLeague, and any credits donated to the team Diambars are still being converted into real money and donated to the charity. So if you still want to help out, donate a few credits to the team, and we will donate the equivalent cash for you.

I am going down to Saly in Senegal myself later this Spring to have a look at how they are doing with the new girls school.

Again, congratulations to Porcus on first to 50 achievements!

To all Diambars friends. (30/07/2009 21:00)

Dear Diambars friend!

It is with great pleasure I can inform you that on July 29th, during the 'celebrity match' at Norway Cup - where the proceedings also went to Diambars - could hand over a check for NOK 1 600 000 towards the construction of the girls school in Saly, Senegal. Not all the money is in yet, but if all promises are fulfilled, we will end up slightly above the mentioned sum.

This would not have been possible without the continued support of all our contributors, and I am proud to say that together we have shown that we are strong and capable of bringing good things to other people.

The construction of the school will be initiated this Autumn, and shortly thereafter the students will be selected. Thank you very much for helping us realize the construction of this school!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

In the future, we are hoping to be able to finance two students at the school every year with donations from the ManagerLeague players. This means about 100.000 credits a year. So to anyone who would like to join in our continued support, please keep donating credits.

Best Regards
Chairman

Til alle Diambars venner. (30/07/2009 20:51)

TUSEN HJERTELIG TAKK FOR HJELPEN!

Chairman

ML contributes to building a school in Africa! (05/05/2009 22:46)

ManagerLeague and Fifth Season have chosen to committ themselves to Diambars (www.diambars.org). The people behind Diambars are amongst others: Bernard Lama, Jimmy Adjovi-Bco, Sae Seck and Patrick Vieira. In Norway, the work of the organization is lead by Eivor Esaiassen. The board in Norway consists of Frode Kvaerneng (chairman), Vidar Davidsen, Aage Petter Christiansen, Torild Skogsholm and Jimmy Adjovo-Boco.

Diambars utilizes soccer as a means to help young people with their education and not least give some of them the possibility of realizing their dream of becoming a professional soccer-player.

Diambars already has an active school for boys in Senegal, and it is our goal to help them gather the funds needed to establish a school for girls as well. In the long run, schools will be set up in 10 African countries. In addition, "satellite stations" will be set up to allow even more people to take part in the Diambars system of education without having to be physically present at the schools. After the schools have been built, the idea and vision is for these schools to be self-sufficient. They have already sent some of their students to colleges and universities in France. A few of the Diambars "players" are also signed with French top-division teams.

The building of the girls school is scheduled to start in October this year. Our aim is to gather 200 000 euro (NOK 1,6 million) and we have already managed to gather almost 50 000 euro! Through the sale of used and signed soccer-jerseys from some of the best players in the world we hope to get even closer to our goal (for a presentation of what's available to purchase, go here (in Norwegian).

We believe that we will get good media-coverage with this, and ManagerLeague has already contributed enough to send a "Diambars"-team to Norway Cup this Summer!

We understand that not everyone has the ability to buy the jerseys (and other items), so if you wish to contribute, you can donate credits to this team. All donations will be bought by Fifth Season and passed on to Diambars. I will update the total amount of donated credits weekly in this blog.

Donated Credits at 17.00, August 3rd: 9798 from at total of 196 donators

ALL DONATIONS FRON NOW WILL BE LISTED IN THE POST "TO ALL DIAMBARS FRIENDS",  AS WE NOW ARE TRYING TO FINANCE TO STUDENTS EVERY YEAR THROUGH DONATIONS (100 000 CREDITS NEEDED PER YEAR)!

THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

TUSEN TAKK FOR DIN STØTTE!

Managerleague - possible law suit and closure (01/04/2009 07:28)
Yesterday, we received a legal opinion from FIFA. We have been warned they will claim a civil law suit against Managerleague as we use several player and team names where FIFA own all rights in regards to these players and teams. FIFA will ask for either economical compensation or that Managerleague is closed down. We have of course involved our lawyers and unfortunately, they have told us that FIFA may have a solid case against Managerleague. The legal opinion was filed in Zurich on March 26th the trial will start mid May. We will of course keep you notified about the progress on this matter! I am truly sorry about this situation, but I hope we will win and survive this. Here at ML Headquarters we are trying to convince ourselves that playing FIFA is just like another home game…….. Wish us good luck!

I (22/11/2007 11:17)

Its a long time since my last post here. I have been working a lot running two projects at the same time. One of them is working with an upcoming Norwegain race driver named Stian Sørlie and the other project is obviously Managerleague, and I am happy to say - Both are going well. As always, Spinner is in charge of the game and community, and I am responsible for business development and making Managerleague visible in the right market places.

I stated earlier in my blog, that for every new partner, I would make a new blog entry . I have not kept that promise, and I am sorry for that. Our last partner is now a proud sponsor in the game with out me blogging about it in advance. Starting 2008 soon,  we have come to a point where we have to change our focus in regards to partners - We will not  sack our partners in any means, but we will change the way we cooperate. We need more income, and I will tell you why...

We have during 2008 nearly doubled the number of managers playing Managerleague, and we have nearly tripled the traffic. This is a fantastic growth and we are very happy for you playing ML and for helping us to grow further. But, this growth has led to new needs for hardware, line capacity and labour. We will within few months hire another technician to help us in developing ML further. So, the cost of running ML has increased a lot.

So how are we gonna make this happen? First of all, we will continue to grow and hopefully increase our revenue through this growth. We will not make ML more expensive to play. Growth in gaming revenue shall be from new players, and hopefully a little from non-paying existing players that converts. In addition, we have opened up for selling our sponsor slots and advertising on our front page. We have signed an agreement with a company that is in charge for selling this, as we do not have the time, network nor the skills to do so.

Furthermore we will work actively towards foundations and available grants in order to further hire skilled people do develop our market place and fantastic and beloved game. Hopefully we will find these oppurtunities, and be fortunate and lucky enough to get those extra funds.

I will also use this blog to ask for your help (again). Not only by referring your friends, releatives, neighbours and collegues to join and play Managerleague (keep on doing this too) but also to put down your own Managerleague Referral link (mine is: http://www.managerleague.com/index.pl?ref=2460) in your blogs, in forums, in your Facebook profile and so on. The more links we have out on different web-sites, the more this will help us grow through increased page rank on Alexis and Google, making us much more visible on search engines around the world!  This is the best Christmas present you all can give Spinner and me, and we have both put this wish on the top of our Wish List. (I will buy something to Spinner in addition with regards from the whole community).

We are grateful for all your help so far, and also very happy for you being there making Managerleague the best Online Football Manager Game in the world! Take care all of you!

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Chairman

I AM SO PROUD OF MY LITTLE SISTER (04/06/2007 16:05)
Even my little sister is growing up. Now she has just finished her 3 year design school. I have to admit, that I thought the the results (clothes) coming from students, even though they have graduated, would maximum be at a medium level. I can now state: I've have been proved wrong.

Visting the ESMODs clothing collection last Thursday was a rather shocking experience. I felt like being ringside to a catwalk in Paris. If anybody had told me that this was clothes from any of the big fashion houses, I would have believed them straight away. It was fantastic. Great models. great music, great atmosphere and very good looking clothes, and my sisters collection was among the ones I liked best. I'm gonna buy birthday present for my wife next year from my little sister (I hope I get a discount though).

I am sure that she with her creative and good looking clothes soon will be hooked up by one of the big fashion houses!

If anyone else of you want to have a look, visit: www.morami.no. She has told me that she is ready to take orders!

PS: The model is not my sister, but she is very good looking too (and married)!

Another partner steps up! (11/04/2007 11:01)

On April 9th, the Norwegian top division started their Football Season. The biggest phone company in Norway, Telenor, launched their new football site (http://fotball.telenor.no). We, at ML headquarter, are proud to announce that we are a part if the content on this site.
Furthermore, we have signed a partnership contract in regards to promotion of Managerleague both on WEB
and WAP in exchange of promoting Telenors Footballsite and services. This is a very big oppurtunity for ML
as Telenors product range and network is huge. We will d
o our very best to satisfy them, and hope that this
partnership is one step fur
ther in our drean of making Managerleague the biggest online football manager game

Managerleague Logo (15/02/2007 12:25)
It is a long time since I last wrote a blog, and I am sorry for that. I promised to write a blog entry every time we got a new partner or I had some great news.  I have not broken the promise, as we haven't gotten any new partners the last month, however, some of the parnterships have been improved, and you will notice this in the future.

The main reason for not having written any new entrys has been a major workload. The game is developing and the number of active players have improved a lot. We have deleted more than 5 000 teams the last months due to inactivity. The number of inactive teams have been growing for a long time, and we have done some changes to the game so they will go bankrupt quicker than they used too. Active players will not notice anything at all. There will always be some inactive teams. That is a part of the game. Some people quit, some teams are made for cheating purposes and some people dont like what they find when they log in. Thats fine.

The biggest news I can give now, is that we are having a nearly 20 % growth in traffic every month now. We hope that we will manage to keep such a growth in order to make the game both bigger and better for all of you.

We have also been working on the Managerleague logo, to fit it for printing. That has been quite a challenge. We did not have the original photo that is behind the ML-logo. But we found it. It was a lot of work and a lot of luck. I will really like to see, if any of you are up to that challenge. You don't need to find the same picture, but I am challenging you to find out what stadium that is pictured. The first one with the right answer, will be awarded 100 credits. No help is available, as only 5 people know the right answer today. Answers should be given as a comment to this blog!

I wish you all good luck, and will be back with more news from the ML headquarter soon!

I dont like Waterboys (23/01/2007 11:12)

As some of you noticed, I was away yesterday spending another day up in the montains. And yes, it could have bee a beatiful day, but it wasnt. Instead of going skiing in 40 cm of powdered snow with the sun shining form a blue sky I had to sped the day inside with plummers, carpenters electricans and many others. In addition, I probably have to get back there during the week with some insurance people too.
You see, on Sunday I drained the bath tub, and and the water did not go the normal way down the drain. No, it took a small journey into the walls and ended up in the ceiling on the floor below. The picture is of a ceiling mounted speaker just below the bath tub taken on Sunday afternoon.

It is just too bad I am not fan of the Waterboys, and I can promise you, I wont be for the first week either

Talking about walking (15/01/2007 09:02)
Several of my previuos blogs has been about steps. As we are getting further in our work and effort of bringing ML out to the world, we have now started to walk, rather than just doing steps. As we have started this journey and new year in a higher pace than last year, we need the proper sporting equipment, and as you all have seen, Puma is added as one of our new sponsors. We will promote Puma and Puma will promote us.

So what will happen now? We are still working exactly the same way as we have done earlier, but we are trying to be more effective. We saw that the number of teams grew rapidly, but a some other measures did not grow that fast. We looked in to the problem and discovered that inactives stayed to long in the game. For that reason, our net growth of teams the last 3 months is less than 1 000, even though  we have hade more than 5 000 signups in the same period. We have deleted a lot of old teams that were inactive and many other went bankrupt. We will also focus more on making new people stay in tha game. I hope the solution we have sorted out will work.

Furthermore, we are working on getting our game much more visible out on the net and in media. I hope you will discover that yourself too, and not only learn that by us tellng you that this is the fact

I hope that you will continue enjoying ML and continue in helping us getting this fine game out to our wonderful world. My last little surprise for you today is: Stay tuned for winning another ML-phone. A new competitions is about to be launched - and if you don't win, you can always buy one.

Take care all of you - and Live A Happy New Year

1. Sony Ericsson is now promoting Managerleague through their norwegian web-pages. We are working on getting this out to more countries. In addition, I guess you all have seen our fantastic new ML-phone. I got one myself, and it is great. The browser is really good, and I like the clam. shell phone og the wonderful design.
2. The Magazine TIPS is promoting us through their web-site: www.tips.as. In addition we have some adds in their magazine, and tomorrow, December 8th, you can read a nice full page article about Managerleague.
3. Hewlett Packard is our new supplier for servers. At this moment, Spinner is down in the server room, trying to get our new servers to fit in our rack. The new servers will help us handle much more players and more traffic. Already today, we see that ML is going kind of slow between 15 and 1600. This will make the speed faster and more even all day long!

I am looking forward to my next entry. That one will give you one or two new partners. I hope to be back again here soon!

Take care everybody and Enjoy ML

4 steps, 4 steps 2 steps (06/10/2006 11:00)
Our next oficial partner is about to be released: We have agreed upon a partnership with the Norwegian magazine "FireFireto". This is the Norwegian version of the original "FourFourTwo". In our opinion, this is Norways best fotball magazine. The Norwegian version has some stuff translated from the original, and some articles made by themselves. We strongly recommend you to have a closer look at it. As you can see from the picture below, some Norwegian key players use this magazine as to be updated on  what's going on in the wonderful world of football.

So, what's in this partnership for us. We will get exposure in this magazine in at least every second issue. In the magazine which is out in the shop today, you'll see a full page add for ManagerLeague. In the next issue, I can guarantee you all that it will be even more....

And finally, what's in it for you. We have managed to negotiate a special deal for members of the ManagerLeague community. If you sign up for a subscription to 442 today, they will provide you with 100 free credits. And, the best part, a 3 months subscription can be done for only NOK 99,-.  That means that you either get the 3 issues of the magazine and 100 credits to the cost of only the credits. In other words, the magazine is for free for the first three months. There will be a link on the ML Front page for all the Norwegian registered users. If you are a Norwegian and does not see the link, please change your country in your profile to Norwegian.

We hope that you appreciate our new partner too, and that you will subscribe to the magazine. By doing that, you will help ManagerLeague and FireFireTo too grow in addition to be able to keep yourself updated on what's going on in the wonderful world of football.

Next Step for ML (26/09/2006 13:07)
I stated in my blog entry on August 9th that I was hoping to tell you about our next partner within the 18th of August. I didn't manage to
close any deals before that, but I have been working on several potensial partners and medias.

First of all, in this month edition of the Norwegain magazine Mann, we've been granted 3 full pages with stuff about Fifth Season and
Managerleague. For those of you who wonder how I look, you should get a hold of that magazine. Furthermore, we have a nearly
closed deal with another Norwegain magazine wich will give us articles and promos every second month. I can not yet reveal their name,
but I hope to do so within the week.

And for other partners, we are in final discussions with another 3 parties. If we get to finalising these, we will be much more promoted
through out the web, both in Norway and other countries.

In addition,  we are working on an improved SMS payment system in other European countries than Norway and Sweden and we are in
negotioations regarding a much better and larger payment platfrom through out the UK. This will also give us more marketing in the
mentioned areas.

We are also working with a lot of Norwegian and Scandinavian Fan clubs for British football. some of them have already signed their
partnership agreement and hopefully a few more will do so shortly.

Thats all the news I have for now, but there is more to come........

Please help us in spreading  the good word about ML to all your friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbours, lovers and partners. Take
care everybody and enjoy Managerleague.

Surf and Beach - in the Andes? (04/09/2006 14:33)
top

In stead of just writing about partners and official business, I thought I could take a shot recommending a slightly exotic resort for those of you who like to travel a bit. So why not try something in the Andes?

The west coast of South America has had an unjust reputation for bad weather and desert.
"Everything attractive is at 10 000 feet."
This is  absolutely untrue:

In Ecuador there are stretches of beautiful, untouched coastal wilderness and even right under the Equator the climate is exceedingly agreeable. On the coast of Ecuador's Manabí province I found my paradise.

True, it's not the palm sprinkled picture postcard, just mile after mile of sandy beaches where people live simple lives. Tourism has hardly touched the fishing village of San Lorenzo under the majestic cape marking the westernmost tip of equatorial America.

Here, my uncle and his Ecuadorian partner Napoleón Martínez have built a small, intimate luxury bed and breakfast hotel called El Faro Escandinavo (The Scandinavian Light House). If they cannot offer discos and fancy restaurants, they certainly can offer perfect relaxation and total privacy:

- Home away from home is a well used hotel cliché which we have attempted to make a reality. On the hotel premises you will only meet people you already have been introduced to. Art and furniture are brought from Europe and every one of our eight double rooms is located in separate bungalows.

What is there to do?

- The idea is that as our guest you don't need to do very much at all! Just relax on the beach, by the pool. Read and listen to music. There are, however, attractive walks in the vicinity, such as going up to our local waterfall or look for monkeys in the cloud forest in the hills just behind the village. If you get restless, we can arrange both deep sea fishing, excursions to the Machalilla national park, riding in the cloud forest, a sensational private botanical garden and several other activities.

- From December through mid May we enjoy warmth and brilliant sun, but never crushing heat.  From June to November it's cooler, windier and often overcast thanks to the cold Humboldt current that runs from the Antarctica up to Equator. The change of climate actually brings whales such as humpbacks, orcas and minkies from Antarctica to our part of the world, and during the season you can actually whale-watch from our dining room! There is a fantastic variety of birds around San Lorenzo - Ecuador is one of the most bio diverse countries on this planet!

How can one get there?

- Quite easily if you're in Ecuador or Perú. We're just 3 hours by road from Guayaquil's international airport and several flights a day take you from Quito to Manta, 30 minutes away from San Lorenzo. So if you are going to Machu Picchu or the Galapagos or to the Andes, come and relax on our lovely beach before you go back to your own country. It is much cheaper than the Caribbean - besides, everybody's been there by now. We're different!

One last thing I have to mention is the cooking: I guarantee the best steak west of the Andes and the cheapest bar prices!

Just my 2 cents! And do say hi to my uncle if you happen to pop by!

We always look for new players (24/08/2006 20:21)
I said in my last blog that my next story would be about  new partner. That story will come next week. We are finalising our next deal, and it sure looks good. But, something else came across our eyes and ears.
Before you read the rest of the blog entry, you should read this article: http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~kritip/managers%20job.htm

Rather interesting to se both the results he has acheived in FM2005 and his courage. Well. at MLHQ we thought this would be a man that has to be challenged by all you good managers in this fine game.

We sent him the challenge and gave him some free credits to participate in the game. He has accepted our challenge and will join us some time next week. I can guarantee you that we will let you know both his team name and the time of his entry.
If any of you guys beats this fellow, I am sure some of us will send our application form to Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson retires

I small step for mankind, a big step for ML (09/08/2006 20:24)
I have said for the last month that my first blog entry will come when we agree with our first alliance partner after we moved to our new office, and today I am writing my first blog entry ever.

I am proud to announce that we have agreed with Opera Software to promote each other. As some of you already have seen, Opera Mini is already being promoted on our mobile login page. Opera will be more visible for you all the next coming months. We have tested Opera as mobile and computer browser, and it works excellent with Managerleague. I hope that all of you will download Opera Software.

We are also proud to announce our partnership with Steve Perryman Sports Travel. That is a Scandinavian based travel agency who are very good in customising tours for special needs. Just tell them what match you wanna see, and they'll fix you hotel and tickets. Just click on the link one of the teams who have chosen them as their sponsor.

We will also continue working with FXT.no. So far they have been of high importance to us, and in the future I hope that we will manage to contribute even more to their readers, and that they will continue contributing to our fantastic game.

I am also working on other deals, sp stay tuned for my next blog entry. I hope I can do that one within the end of next week! Take care everybody and have fun with us at www.managerleague.com.

Regards Chairman
