Introduction
Hello everyone. I've had this idea since our beloved Spinner implemented Champions League into the game. I'm making my blog towards a MLCL "newspaper", at least i will try as good as i can. Don't expect this big entries like this one every single season as I've just got a new job and starts tomorrow. My plan is not to just come with precompetition predictions, but i've also planned to do some reports in the middle of the competition and on occations i will make entries involving 1 match alone both before and after it's played. I have made this small little function to pick out a match for me when i feel like it, so the matches will not be picked by me. This is because no teams should be more in the publisity as long as they're still in it.
As i said i've had this idea since Spinner implemented the competition, so i've also prepared since then. I've made my own little database which contains every single CL result since season 35. This is to be able to give some historical views on situations i will drop by the coming seasons, like checking past results between two teams. I hope you all will enjoy to have a little bit more publisity around Managerleagues biggest cup. Good luck to you all!
History
The Champions League competition in Managerleague is going into ti's fourth season since the implementation in season 35.
Tore Pupper, manager of Ringnesklanen, wrote history when he became the first ever manager to win the competition with a comfortable 3-1 win in the final over Deportivo Quito The very next season he was the first ever manager to participate in 2 finals when he in the end lost against the Hogwarts of Wizardry who also beated Ringnesklanen in the group stage the very same season.
In season 37 Rachael, manager of Holland 1 - A-tack, managed to become the first ever team to win the treble which included the champions league, the holland league cup and the holland division 1. This is the ultimate achievement and Rachael can be very proud of himself and his boys too manage this.
Sir_Selstø, manager of ManUtd123, did also write himself into the history books in season 37 when he beated Poker Alho with 10-0. This is the first time a team have ever scored 10 goals or more in a champions league match and also the biggest win. It will be a hard result to beat for sure.
Season 38
The coming champions league competition can become the season where an underdog wins the whole competition as many of the mayor teams are going into vacation the coming weeks. This means that some of the biggest favourites might go out in the group stage and that can open the door for some of the 12 teams that participate in the competition for the first time. I will go through every single group a little bit and also share some information i've gotten from participating teams through small interviews. The big question this season is if Holland 1 - A-tack can win for the second time in a row or if there is any teams out there that can stop him. When it comes to the interviews i have not bothered to rewrite the answers if the english is a bit bad as they all were understandeble.

Interview with TanTheMan United
(He's from Drammen, Norway)

Q: This is your first time participating in Champions League. What are your ambitions?
A: Since I wont be online during the first 2 weeks of the new season, I cant have any ambitions in CL this season... My holiday starts tomorrow, and ML wont come along
Q: I see that you were the lucky manager to buy the former goalie of Hogwarts of Wizardry. How much influence do you believe he will have on your team this season?
A: Hopefully he will help me get 1 or 3 points out of the even matches. Last season I lost most of those matches because my goalie wasnt very good. So when I noticed Hogwarts were selling, I just had to buy him. I will now have a great goalie for at least 10 seasons. He should also have great experience after winning the league a few times + the MLCL, so I am very pleased having this player now
Q: None of the teams in your group have ever played in the 1/8 finals, so if i said you're one of the favourites to go through from the group, would you agree?
A: Yes, absolutely, but since I will be away I cant agree. I need some luck to manage to enter the final 16.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: I would love to say my own team, but honestly I think NIkeNike and Papillary Carcinoma will go through from our group.
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: This season I really HOPE Mr Jolly G Reaper with his Spurred On wins it! He has a great team, and is a very nice person. But I THINK Skjoldar will end up as winners

Q: You have participated in MLCL all the seasons so far, but only reached the 1/8 finals once. Do you think you can repeat that this season?
A: I have been participating MLCL from the beginning but not have achieved anything so far. I really want to improve there because in the league there are not too many teams to be match to me.
Q: What's your total ambition for champions league this season, how far can you go?
A: I want to win it of course but it seems to me impossible because too better teams than mine. if i reach 1/4 finals or 1/2 finals it will be great achievement for me.
Q: You're the only team in your group to ever reach the 1/8 finals. Do you think that experience will help you, and why?
A: I think that my experience is valuable but the other teams are good enough so it will be tough.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: I hope i will be 1 of the teams the other cant say. May be Kingstonian or Man Untd.
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: I really think That Holland 1 is the best team i have ever seen in ML and the best manager ofcourse. Ringnesklanen and all champions of major leagues like Norway england and Holland have chances too.

A: I am sorry for Hogwarts of wizardy for going in Norway league so he cant play next 4 Seasons. |

Q: This is your third time participating in Champions League. You have never been in the 1/8 finals, but this season you're the group favourite. How does that make you feel?
A: favourite ? thats nice ,but i dont believe in favourites teams because i have see bots teams win strong teams , but i feel very hapy.
Q: What's your ambition for champions league this season, do you think you can go all the way?
A: i hope i can get 1/4 is not to much but is my dream.
Q: There's a total of 12 new teams that haven't participated in MLCL earlier seasons, three of these teams are in your group. Do you see that as an advantage or not and why do you think that?
A: no i dont think so , because any weak want to win from strong teams , i have respect for any team , i think they want to go next round to.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: i dont know because we are 5 strong teams ( Manch U. , Agorreta FC , SS Lazio , De Tamilske Tigrene ) , but my favourite strong team is Manch U.
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: Holland 1- A-tack of course

Q: You have participated in MLCL all the seasons so far and reached the 1/8 finals every single time. Do you think you can repeat that this season?
A: if not i will be disapointed.
Q: What's your ambition for champions league this season?
A: advance to knock out stage and then all is possible
Q: You seem to lack some power up front. Are you planning on spending some money on a new attacker, or do you feel your current attackers have what it takes?
A: i'm not planning to spend any more money on attackers in nearest seasons. I believe my attackers just need some time
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: CzarneKoszule and Panjevi
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: its too early to say, after last season when Hogwarts didnt come trough group stage (he probably ment Ringnesklanen)

Q: You have participated in MLCL all the seasons so far, but never reached the 1/8 finals. Do you think you will manage that this season?
A: It depends of what are my priority. It's very hard to play good in both tournaments, you should have balanced team. I steel don't have it(short of midfielders). Also it depends of which League you are! If you have a lot of good teams like International League You can just go down!
Q: What's your total ambition for champions league this season, how far can you go?
A: I'll try my best to go to elimination phase this season!
Q: Dimitar Berbatov seems to be very important for you to succeed. Do you believe you have good enough cover for him if he should get injured?
A: If It's happen then I'll think. He was injured last season at last rounds and I manage to win my games even with one of the best teams Manch United.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: CDEstarreja and CzarneKoszule

Q: Back in season 36 you went all the way and beated Ringnesklanen in the final. Do you think you can repeat that this season?
A: I'm away the entire season, so i doubt i can repeat it with out coaching the team from the sideline.
Q: You sold many of your best players last season, including on of the best goalies in ML when looking at his skills. Does this mean you don't have any big ambitions for MLCL this season?
A: That's correct. I'm actually trying to sell out most of my team at the moment, so i don't have any ambitions for MLCL at all.
Q: Even though you sold all these players, you're still the favourte to win your group. Do you feel so as well?
A: Absolutely not! As i just said, I'm still selling players and will not be online this season. Any team can go through from my group.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: N/A

Q: Back in season 35 you went all the way and beated Deportivo Quito in the final and the following season you lost the final. Do you think you can repeat that this season?
A: No, don't think so. Have been replacing the CL-winning players with younger and more unexperienced players, so my goal is to go through to the knock-out stage this season.
Q: For the first time since the Champions League started the groups are drawn randomly. What do you think about that? Is your group easier or harder this season then the other seasons?
A: What do you think? All CL-champions so far have come from my group. All groups seem more fair this season.
Q: Rune Hvattum is pretty important for your attack line to score goals. Do you feel you have good enough back up in case he should get injured in key matches?
A: Easy answer: No.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: Skjoldar, offcourse. The rest of us have to fight for 2. place.
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: Holland 1 - A-tack, Hogwarts of Wizardry, Skjoldar and Spurred On.

Q: The two seasons you have participated in MLCL you have won all 7 matches in the group stage just to lose in the 1/8 finals. Is it the pressure that gets to big at once you're in a knock-out stage?
A: Last season I got knocked out in 1/8 finales, against Nikki sixx. What can I say not the typical cup team I guess.
Q: Do you believe you can get further this season?
A: I guess if i get the right teams in knockout stage I hope to get top 4 maby a final, thats the goal but not sure if it is possible.
Q: It's pretty clear that you have one of the best squads on the paper in the competition this season, so i guess you have high ambitions for both CL and the league?
A: My goal is ofc to win all 3 titles this seson, just like it was last season. At one point last season I did not think that I would win anything, but managed to win the league on most scored goals...
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: Me and Tore i guess. I have never lost a group stage game yet, but Tore might be the one to do so.
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: Holland 1 - A-tack, Spurred On, think those teams will be up high, and hopefully Skjoldar, but i will probarbly get knocket out like last season.

Q: Your squad have good competition in every section. Do you feel yourself that you have a good enough squad to fight for a spot between the last 16?
A: Yes, I will be very dissapointed if i fail to go through again.........
Q: Getting to the 1/2 final in season 35 is your best achievment yet in this competition. What's your ambition this season?
A: Hope for a place among the 4 or 8 best
Q: There are 12 teams that compete in MLCL for the first time this season. Do you think this can be a season where an outsider wins it all?
A: Yes it may well happen, but i think one of the most well known will win again.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: Fystor was very strong last season. So i guess me and Fystor
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: Holland 1 A-tack must be the favourite after his perfect display last season!! But also look out for Skjoldar that has an amacing team!

Interview with Hollan 1 - A-tack

Q: Last season you wrote history in ML by winning MLCL, 1. div in the holland league and the holland league cup. Do you believe any team, including yourself, can copy that achievement in the near future?
A: I still find it unbelievable I have managed it all the way. There are many more very good teams who should be able to copy this achievement but I think it will take some time before someone will. I think you also have to be a little bit lucky with your matches so to achieve this all pieces have to fall together. It would be nice if my achievement would be historical for a little while.
Q: You have a really strong first lineup, do you feel you have good enough backup if you should get injuries or suspensions in key matches in MLCL this season?
A: Yes I think my team is in balance; a good first line up, some good players for backup and most important also some nice youth players so I can continue with my team in the future. There is one other "problem", I will have vacation for 4 weeks so I won't be much online. I don't think I will achieve prices in season 38.
Q: What is your ambition for this season Champions League?
A: Like I said above I don't have very much ambitions for season 38. Let's see how my boys can manage without me. If I qualify anyway for the CL in season 39 then my ambition will be once again to win this title for the second time.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: Finally Lardonio I hope, he has been unlucky last seasons but is a good manager. The other team will be Royals I think but like all seasons most of the teams have a good chance to qualify for the next round so it will be though.
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: I have two favorites for this season. PlayRoy and Kaiser Soze. I know my mate (Reservoir Dogs) is very determined to go all the way. He is a good manager, has a great team so he should be able to do it. I only can wish him and everybody who play this game good luck in season 38. I can tell now that it is a great feeling to win the CL....so I will be back

Q: Your squad have good competition in every section. Do you feel yourself that you have good enough backup in case of injuries and suspensions?
A: I am a little short in attack but hope that my experianced striker K.Leonidas can lead the way for me.
Q: So far you have gone through the group stage every single season and are the big favourite in your own group this season. What is your own expectations?
A: I am a quarter final team, have never gone further, but to be in the top 8 teams in ML is an achievement in my opinion. A semi final spot would be great but as ever, getting past the Group stage is the prmary aim.
Q: Your group seem to be one of the easiest groups there is. 4 of your competitors have their first season in the competition this season. Do you think this is an advantage compared to the other favourites to win the final?
A: There are no easy groups and if I were to suggest so it would be more than a little disrespectful to the other Group members. Luck as much as experiance, will determine who progresses.
Q: which two teams do you believe will go through from your group?
A: Alex Perfect Eleven and Real Boludos
Q: Last but not least, who is your favourite to win the whole competition this season?
A: I think Ringnesklanen given his pedigree with 2 trophies in CL from 3 seasons and as an outside bet, Skjoldar, both in a tough Group. (My dear friend, Ringnesklanen only have 1 CL trophy)

Final words
As you all can see several of the teams are going on holiday this season which will mean we most likely will get a brand new Champions League winner. Ringnesklanen don't believe he have the squad to take the title this season. Hogwarts of Wizardry are going on holiday for the entire season as well as selling his players. While Holland 1 - A-tack also are going on holiday for 4 weeks. This means that anyone participating in CL this season will have a good shot at the title if they're home in the summer.
If I should pick out a couple of favourites I would say either Skjoldar, Reservoir Dogs or Spurred On takes the title this season. Never the less, we do have to keep in mind all the other challengers like Manch United, CDEtarreja, CzarneKoszule and DINAMO 13. Every single one of them will make it hard for the favourites to win their matches and advance towards the final.
