Tempers fly at Old Trafford! (09/03/2008 13:38)

so if you saw the FA Cup match between United and Portsmouth yesterday but there was plenty to talk about on the lines of the low quality referee. now sir alex is furious over the "penalty claims" and "fouls" that were not given to his side on the day, personally i agree. now the main issue was with the use of the shoulder barging. i agree with the use of shoulder barging and it is a use of a players strength to challenge for the ball. but there is such a thing as too aggressive, and and a few accounts pompy were. so that was one controversial debate but the one that got me was the sending off of the substitute keeper Tomas Kuszczak. the allegation was that Kuszczak had taken pompy striker Milan Baros down in the area. now when i watched MOTD last night one the pundits was saying how it was a clear penalty and he got a "knee in the face for his troubles". firstly saying that is wrong, seeing as a strong enough blow to the face/head from a strong joint like the knee can concuss or at worst kill somebody? secondly i still can't see how Kuszczak deserved sending off. to me Kuszack drops and Baros jumps over him, knee's Kuszczak in the face, leaves his foot bac and simply falls over Kuszack. apart from Baros's knee in Kuszczak's face to me it doesn't even look like there was any contact between to the two. this all led to United captain Rio Ferdinand taking on the role as goalkeeper due to Van der Sar going off at half time making way for the Kuszczak, who then got sent off. although Ferdinand went the right way, Muntari struck it well and put Pompy through to the semi finals. also readers please remember this is only my opinion. what do you think about it all?

Thank god for Spurs! Thank god for Ramos! (24/02/2008 23:19)

thats right as you all probably know Spurs won the Carling Cup. Now even though i'm not a fully fledged Spurs fan i was over the moon with their victory.
this is because
a) they are my second favourite team
b) they beat none other than the cheating, over rated and over paid Chelsea FC

i watched the whole game and i have to say it was a great cup final. chelsea opened the scoring from a set piece and a (as much as i hate to say it) great strike from Drogba. then in the 2nd half a piece of shocking keepy up type defending gave spurs a penalty that Berbatov chipped cheekily in to make it 1 a piece. and then in extra time a free kick conceded in the chelsea half was crossed in and Woodgate took the header (by this point i was cheering like a mental patient) and after a 2nd half of extra time with some grueling chances either side the match concluded.

but for anyone who watched the match i couldn't believe zakora's miss?!? unbelievable! ay well they still won!

Controversy loves Materazzi! (22/02/2008 15:39)
The Liverpool V Inter Milan game the other was a prime example of how trouble follows Materazzi around. After being booked early on in the game for something that clearly didn't deserve a yellow card (it was just a clatter of legs between him and Torres) I don't believe his sending off was justified. I didn't see the second challenege that earned him the Get Out Of Game Free card but even with that yellow I dont think the first yellow was deserved. Liverpool now dominating even more went on to win the game 2 - 0. Any thoughts?
Did he deserve being sent off?
Would it have made a difference to the score line if he had stayed on for the rest of the match?
Do Inter have what it takes to pull it back at home?

Nike Air Legends! (13/02/2008 02:02)

I got mine today, and I have to say they are an amazingly comfortable football boot. due to my feet being small but wide my hopes were pretty low on finding a popular, comfortable, well branded and performance enhancing football boot. nevertheless the Air Legends have delivered. designed for comfort the first edition of the air legend (although i doubt the difference in the 1st edition and the newly released 2nd edition is majorly different) uses special "K-leather" which is very soft and can easily adapt to your individual footshape. but with the introduction of the 2nd more advanced yet expensive series, the 1st edition is slowly but surely dissapearing, so for a reliable, original yet stylish, comfortable and enhancing boot I would definetly reccomend a pair of these! most internet stores offer a starting price of around £40 - £50 (R.R.P £84.99) but some sports stores have priced the boots around £60. but also don't forget that the difference between SG (soft ground) and FG (firm ground) is important. SG boots are generally for a muddy, broke up, soft pitch as FG's are more suitable for the summer season and astroturf. also note that the different styles do continue, i just couldnt find the right pictures

A Joke for You All (09/02/2008 12:40)
One day, at St.Martins school, it had become apparent to one teacher Mr. King that one of his pupils was constantly falling asleep in his class. The culprit? little suzie, solution? try and catch her out by askin her a question as she starts to fall asleep. So the next morning when class had started, Mr. King was teaching R.E. As time passed by, slowly but surely, little suzie began to fall asleep. Mr. King noticed this and asked "Suzie, who is the creator of all life?" Sat behind her was jonny, and he didn't want little suzie to get into to trouble, so he jabbed her with his pencil to wake her up. "GOD!" screamed suzie. As class continued, suzie began to drift off again and Mr. King was on the attack. "Suzie, who is the light of the world?" jonny jabbed her again with his pencil. "JESUS CHRIST!" shouted suzie. At this point Mr. King was thinkin whether or not to give up, but once more little suzie started to fall asleep, and Mr. King gave it one more try. "Suzie, what did Eve say to Adam after they had ther 22nd child?" jonny once again, jabbed her with his pencil. "IF YOU TOUCH ME WITH THAT THING ONE MORE TIME, I'M GUNNA SNAP IT IN HALF AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ARSE!"

if u dont get it from reading it, sayin it out loud usually helps :P

Come on Rovers!! (13/12/2007 23:36)

Saturday will be hosting the Blackburn v.s. Wigan game at the JJB. After suffering a close defeat at Ewood last weekend to West Ham, Hughes is now insisting the lads will have bounced back from that game to win at the JJB. The last time we played at the the JJB we boasted a 3 - 0 victory with ease. Fingers crossed it'll happen again! I mean come on, we showed Newcastle where to go, and Wigan must be goin the same way! Ciao
