Invite, affiliate, referral tutorial (23/04/2011 12:36)

What means invite, afiliate, referral?

ManagerLeague rewards you for your interest to increase and tell others about our game community. Doing so will grant you a small bonus credit each time a new manager join the game using your personalized affiliate link. You will also receive a bonus of 10% of all credits that he will ever buy. Why do you need credits is clear, no need for details. Be warned that you not allowed to abuse this option to get the credit bonus dishonestly. Whoever is thinking to gain unfair advantage with such maneuvers will end up with his team deleted. I also remind that it is not allowed to have access to more than 1 team according to the Game Rules.

What steps are needed?

Custom affiliate link is written in preferences page in this portal and a permanent link to this page is the General page inside the game (under Important Information, look for 'Invite friends') The link has the following form: http://www.managerleague.com/index.pl?ref=24883 (but 24883 should be replaced with your own account ID written in preferences page) This link may be sent using the option in the same page, fill in the email address you want to invite and click on "Invite a new player" or you can copy and send the link directly through other communication methods (own email, messenger, Skype, Facebook, etc..) If you have a website or facebook page or other similar social networking sites, you may choose from already made banners from that page and can associate them with your own affiliate link.

If you think that link is too long, you can use
http://tiny.cc to turn it into a shorter one, like http://tiny.cc/managerleague (or even shorter than that).

And there is more

You can make public your own matches, own players or own team directly on your facebook page with the custom affiliate link that is found already in each of these pages (you probably noticed the presence of the blue button that says "Share on Facebook")

Each match, player or team has its own identification number (Note: the team ID is never the same as account ID) that can be used to show your friends how is your team performing even if they don't have a team in ManagerLeague.

For example, a link to a match can be made public as follows:

https://www.managerleague.com/ml/match/12345?ref=24883

Notice the ID match is 12345, it is always written on every page of every match in the following form  (MATCH: 12345) and ref=XXXXX is your own account ID you need to use.

Similar to match link, a link to a player can be accessed by those that don't have already a ML account as:

https://www.managerleague.com/ml/player/86191737?ref=24883

Player ID is 82518252 and is always found in every page of every player under player picture in this form ( PLAYER: 82518252) and you can use this type of links even for players from other teams when you talk about them by adding &ref=XXXXX (your own account ID) to gain benefit from possible affiliations.

Finally, you can show your friends your own team using a public link that points to your team like this:

https://managerleague.com/ml/team/17072?ref=24883

Who is opening this link can see details about my team and there is a button to can be used to register in ManagerLeague and this is linked directly to my own custom affiliate link. What you have to do is to replace 17072 in the link above with your own team ID.

All examples above can be shortened using http://tiny.cc (or other sites offering similar services) in links like these:

http://tiny.cc/amical  (the match above) ; http://tiny.cc/midfielder2 (the player above) ;  http://tiny.cc/echipabuna (team CS Cizme Rupte). All these links are examples and won't bring you any benefit if you don't replace the ID with your own account ID, and I really have to highlight this.

New idea: If you didn't noticed until now, there is a nice trailer for ManagerLeague featuring Patrick Vieira at this page: http://www.managerleague.com/trailer.html  It would be a good idea to add to that link the "?ref=yourID" at the end, like this: http://www.managerleague.com/trailer.html?ref=24883

This page, maybe with the link shortened with tehniques explained above, can be a very nice way to promote the game.

You can use these special links wherever the ones you are talking with cannot access the pages inside the game directly and you have the possibility to make your team development known to other people that, eventually, you will succeed to convince to start managing their own team. DO NOT forget to follow the rules of the sites where you will publish these links, to avoid some nuisances.

How to keep track

Now let us return to the game's portal preferences page where you can see the following:

A number that tells you how many managers have joined ManagerLeague using your affiliate link, and at the bottom a list with their names and their teams. If you remember what I wrote above, when any of managers in this list will ever buy credits with real money you will automatically receive 10% bonus. I know managers who fixed their problem with the number of credits on long term using referral links and this is something that I recommend to everyone. What you need to do further is that every time a new team is added in your affiliate list, send them a tip or a welcome message or links to the full schedule (SCHEDULE) or (TUTORIAL) or other people blogs or whatever you think you would have needed to know when you first joined the game. DO NOT take advantage of their innocence to fool them to buy your overpriced crap player, this is something NOT to be done to anyone, is even prohibited by the Rules.  Actually your interest is all your affiliates should understand how the game is played and, if they like it enough, to consider worthwhile to buy credits at least one time.

Some people do not like or do not agree that if they buy credits, who invited them in the game will receive 10% free bonus. So if you want to help someone who entered the game using your custom affiliate link, you can give some guidance to start, but avoid letting them know that you may benefit from them in any way. And remember to not abuse the goodwill of sites where you can put your links, just as we do NOT like spam, do not spam other sites!

Go, go, go!

In conclusion, it is known that ManagerLeague is the best and most dynamic online football management game available for free, and the match simulator, irrespective of contrary views, is one of the most advanced in the world. If you like this game and want to make it known to other football fans, use the above explained links for the benefit of yourself and your own league. And, if you don't have your own league already, this is the best way to hope to get a new one.
