Progress update. (03/02/2009 15:00)

Hello everyone.

I think it's time for an update. It's probably way overdue too, and I hear.

Before I continue with the update, I would like to present you with this:

Ok. Not all that special, I know. I'll get to why it's there in a sec.

But first I would like to just let you know, that our update is going very well, and we're very happy with all the changes that are coming into the game. As some of you have discovered through the tiny little image I served you on the last update, we're going to make some visual changes in the game (although that's not all, more on that later). I'm happy to report that that work is well underway. A rather huge task, if I may say so, but we're on it, and it's going to look fitting to the century we're in.

Spinner is working hard to put all this together, and I'm making sure he's got enough new stuff to keep him busy for a while yet. We're very happy with the results we're getting, and in the end, it's you who get to play with it all and enjoy yourselves in the new ManagerLeague.

Now, let's get back to the image at the top.
That's old.
You've seen it a million times (especially if you play in division 1).

And it's going to retire when the update arrives.

And when it retires, it'll make way for this:

I won't say much about it.  Enjoy the preview.

EDIT:
A couple of answers for you.
1. Yes. There will be a clock.
2. Yes. There will be a season counter.

Time for an update. (25/11/2008 13:02)
Hello everyone.

After the addition of Coach Mac (that would be me) to the ManagerLeague team, things got a little silent. There's of course a good reason for this. Or at least the one I made up seemed to make a lot of sense at the time... :)

First, I have to say that it's a compete joy to work on this game, and to see Spinner excited about all the things that I'm doing (we're getting to that bit now). Now, unless you are playing in my particular department, or have managed to pick up one of my friendlies, you won't have seen me around much. I'm working on the only super-secret bit of the game at the moment, so naturally, I can't yet tell you what it is, but it is my aim to give you a few clues, so that you can speculate and create rumors, and just plain lie to each other about what it could be.

As the more devoted among you probably have noticed, dev is closed. It will be for quite a while. If you were on dev right now, and your screen was 100x100 pixels, you might see something like this:

I'm sure you'll figure all this out in record time :)

Updates will be forthcoming more frequently from now, so watch out for more information and maybe even the occasional puzzle piece. I wish everyone the best of luck in the upcoming season as well.

Play ball!

Coach Macs First Blog Entry (02/09/2008 20:57)
Hello everyone.

As some of you have gathered, I am the latest branch on the employee tree at Fifth Season, working on ManagerLeague.  So far I've had the pleasure of working a full two days, so you could say that I'm not quite up to speed on everything yet, and it's probably going to take me a while to get there. Safe to say, the game's complexities are many.

Now, I'm sure a lot of you are curious as to what I'm doing on the project and what I will be doing in the time ahead. I won't go into details about what I'm doing yet. It's varied, and you'll probably notice it as the seasons progress from now. Besides, I need more material for upcoming blog entries as well :)

As for my background. It's varied. Which is probably why Spinner gave me the job. I've been in the gaming industry for over a decade, coming into it as a young innocent man in 1995. I'm discovering some gray hairs now, but that's ok for a man, isn't it? I've graduated from the school of Funcom, just like my esteemed collegue, Spinner, which I can safely say kept me childish well beyond the government regulated time. I've been involved in several aspects of game production over the years, and hope to utilise that wisdom as I join in the work of creating and improving the gaming experience in ManagerLeague. Ok. That was a bit blah, blah, blah, but now I might get to spill some details here and there later :)

I'm looking forward to meeting and chatting with the community in the weeks and months ahead and to get to know you all better, to listen, and to twist the occational arm to get some new features into the game. I don't think I'll need to do much twisting though. We'll see.

I'm currently enjoying the hell out of the game. Yes, I'm in the 5th division still. What can I say, you guys are good. :)
