1: Before we begin
Now that you have entered the game, it is time to familiarize yourself with the interface. The top-header shows you various information like your league, your divisioin and how much money you have. It will also show you if you have any unread messages, pending offers or waiting challenges. The large middle section holds the selected "section" of the game, while the footer holds a few words about the current section and button to Help, Tips, Preferences and the purchase-page. 2: Achieve something!
In ManagerLeague, there are more than 75 Achievements. In the beginning, they are "objectives" to accomplish, and some will give you a little reward. The first achievements, all in the "Basic" category, can be done right away. You will find those achievements listed in the red central box on your General-page. Some of them will make you look around inside the game, which is the whole point. After completeing all the basic achievements you will know how to send messages, add friends, list players for sale and much more. When you have completed them, come back here and proceed to the next step. 3: A very important upgrade!
To be able to build a strong team, which takes time, you are going to need more money. You start off with a very small stadium, and the first thing you should do now, if you have not already, is upgrade your stadium capacity. It will be well worth it! Do not be tempted by the cheaper upgrades available, the capacity is the one you want. Later, after your first capapcity-upgrade has been completed, then should serisouly consider upgrading your restaurant and your club-shop to further increase your income. If you should wish to upload a picture to represent your stadium, or rename it, you can do both in the Preferences-page. You will find it in the Options-menu. When you have started the upgrade, please proceed to the next step. 4: Your team
It is now time to take a look at your team. As already know how to swap players around from when you completed one of the achievements, you know that you simply drag players from the list on the left, and onto the playing-field on the right. Then you drop them onto the player you wish to replace. YOu can also swap two players on the field, just drag a shirt onto another shirt, and they awitch places. What you need to do now, is to get an overview of your best players, to find out what your strengts are, and where you are weak. To do this, you should set up your best 11 players, based simply on Quality (an overall stat giving you an estimate of how good a player is). You can of course change formation at any time, to suit your lineup, so you have midfielders playing in the midfield, and attackers up front. When your best combination have been placed, you can place the 5 substitues as well. It is important that you have substitutes of all kinds on the bench, or you might end up being forced to substitute an attacker for a goalie if your goalie is injured during a match! When you are done, remember to press the long Save-button under the list of your players. So far, so good. Now we are going to get rid of lousy players you do not need. As a thumb-rule, you should simply sack any player you might have with less than 60 in quality. These should be the first ones to go. In ManagerLeague, sacking a player actually gives you a little money, as the player and his agent actually buy the player out of the contract. |

Don't worry about all of this yet, but it would be nice if you would now move your mouseover the different menus, and make sure you know where the help-button is located.
