Champions League Final (27/05/2009 22:53)

Here we are, 27th of May in the year 2009. This is the day FC Barcelona, the reigning champions of Spain became Europe's best team, by defeating Manchester United 2-0 in the Final of the Champions League. What was supposed to be a very entertaining and two-sided game, turned out to be an average game, with Barcelona scoring 2 goals (Eto'o with the tip of his foot in the short-hand corner and Messi heading(!) the ball in the far corner), in the periods when United appeared to be stronger (again). With all people talking about the clash between two styles, there was also the battle between 2 giants (and of course 20 others), Messi and C. Ronaldo. As Messi scored and Ronaldo didn't, this means a double victory for Messi and Barcelona.

Even though I'm a huge fan of Man Utd, I guess I can live with an European Champion like Barcelona, as they showed great ability on the ball and great passing and teamplay through-out the whole season. A joy to watch over and over again. Hopefully they can retain this form over the next season(s).

Now, I'm going to drink my sorrow away ;) Cheers...
