Developer Diary, Part 3 (01/03/2009 11:53) |
Today, I am going to show you the new Training section of ManagerLeague. Both Team- and Individual training have now been joined into 1 section, for ease of use. On the left side of the section, you will find Individual Training, and on the right side you will find Team-training and Training-camps. As you can see, we have made it easier to set the training here, as you simply click on the attribute you wish to train. We have also managed to "squeeze" in the gains for each individual stat, where there is a gain. You can see them as the tiny numbers next to the stats that have been increased. We have also made our own checkboxes using images, so they no longer look "crap" in Internet Explorer or Opera. We have also taken the liberty to add a little more statistical information underneath the players, to help you keep track of your progress in developing the players. We have also improved the handeling of a potential log-out while you change your training-setup, to avoid loss of data and confusion about wether or not you have actually set the training or not. If you at any time get logged out, you will be notified and taken to the log-in page, with instant transfer back to the training-section.
The drag'n drop functionality of todays interface will be unchanged, as we have nto found any better way of dealing with it. That said though, the code has been optimised a lot. The observant reader might also notice something different when it comes to the ordered camp... Oh all right then, I'll spill the beans.. There is now another added level for Location, Accomodation and Intensity. Which means you can get even more from your camps. But be warned, the Extreme Intensity might cause and injury or two, and the other top-level choices here are not free. The camp booked below costs 10.000.000 ! Yikes! (Admittedly, you should not take these numbers as what we will see when we are finished, as they will be subject to testing and tweaking like everything else). The new level in Accomodation is good news for anyone playing custom cups during weekend though, as the Sunday Camp can help your players feel more rested afterwards. Unfortunately, I must warn you that we are seeing some delays looming in the horizon. In our latest status-meeting internally, we see that Q1 (first quarter) is out of our reach for releasing the big update. As I have said before, we will not launch it until we are sure we are ready, as this update has been in development for quite a while already. We know that the nice graphics will load our bandwidth a lot too, so we have purchased a new server that will be placed in the hosting-center of our ISP. The new server will host all the new graphics, so any added bandwidth-usage we shoud see, will not affect the speed of the pages and our bandwidth usage from HQ. Thats it for this chapter.
