Barkeeper's ML Knowledge DB (13/09/2008 07:07)
Barkeeper hasn't logged on this season so, just in case he has left us , I have copied his ML Knowledge Database to preserve the information.

I forgot that Giuseppe Sole's blog already has this info copied but I prefer it on the one page.


Matches:

Penalties:
- Starts with penalty taker and continues down the positions


Training camp:

Fitness:
Basic standard: +1
High standard: +3
Luxury : +5

- The max fitness you can gain is if you put a player with stamina 90 or above at rest (9 points), have the option luxury during the camp (5 points), and four slots on rest in team training (4 points). You then get 9+5+4 = 18 points.

Key knowledge:
- The camp in round 30 and 35 should not be abroad, because morale is reseted at the end of the season     nb: exception if there is important playoff matches


Individual Training:

Fitness:
From training: +2
From rest: +(Stamina-points/10)   nb: rounded down

If a player is rested at training he gets both +2 and 10% of stamina. (He then of course don't train, and can't gain attributes)
- If a player is not resting he only gets +2. (But can gain one attribute in the skill he is training)

Season gains:
0-10: Poor               nb: Subjective
10-20: Ok
20-30: Good
30-40: Great
40+: Excellent

Key knowledge:
- Lower stats gain in theory faster, but what stats that increase in matches are very player-dependent
- Best way to gain stats throughout the season is friendlies
- The term "High Potential" is given to players how have/thought to have the ability to gain alot of stats
- Even though you gain the most with friendlies, what stat the player gains is somewhat random, with normal traning you can select what stat the player shall have a possibility to gain in. Less total gain, but possible gain in key stats, that can result in a higher Q-rise compared to just playing friendlies and resting your players.

Team Traning:

The important four:
- Attacking                        nb: not counting morale
- Defending           
- Understanding
- Teamplay

Key knowledge:
- Keep the important four high (80+)
- Should be able to keep four other stats at a 75+ level
- Consistency is important, focus on four selected stats over time     nb: but can trow in a rest or morale now and then when needed

Match reports holds important clues on how your team is doing in certain team related skills; trow-in, corner ect.
- Morale is reseted to 50 at the beginning of the season, the other team training stats stay the same
- Morale is of great importance, and some managers focus on this at the beginning of the season
- The offside stat is thought to both make defenders better at offside, and make attackers avoid offside             nb: uncertain about attacker effect

No point in giving your team stats info to other, keep it a team secret
- You can not decrease in a stat you are currently training

- The purchase of a player will see each team attribute (except for morale) reduced by one if it is above 70. Therefore the purchase of a player can see you lose 9 team attributes if they are all above 70.

Tactics:

Tackling:
Soft tackling: Positive: Less fitness-loss, less fouls Negative: Risk of not making key tackles
Normal tackling: Positive: Make more of those key tackles Negative: greater chance of fouls and fitness-loss
Hard tackling: Negative: The trade-off tackles won vs fouls/fitness doesn't pay, avoid                                             <- nb: Subjective

Captain:
- Age and Perception plays a role
- Age over 27 is preferred
- Thought to bring a positive effect to the teams players in the same position as the captain, eg. the defensive line if the captain is a defender

Freekicks:
Own half: Defensive player with best passing skill
Opponent half: Trade-off between passing and scoring, and possibly perception

Penalty:
- Best scoring

List over the minimum Q the youth player you receive at seasonstart, depending on your current division and youth academy upgrades:

- If due to retirement you get less then 17 players you will get random player(s) to fill it up to 18 players. The player from your youthsquad will follow this list, but if you get a random player that is 17, he might be worse.

Season change:

- +15 fitness to all players
- Player stats decrease, which can result in quality decrease
- Older players might retire, this is random, goalkeepers stay longer then the other players in general
- All team stats reduced by 2            nb: uncertain
- Standing bids are removed
- Team is declared bankrupt if it got a negative balance of 5.000.000

Awards:

The Golden Glove: Awarded to best performing goalkeeper in each department
The Golden Ball: Awarded to best performing defender in each department
The Golden Statuette: Awarded to best performing midfielder in each department
The Silver Boot: Awarded to best performing attacker in each department

The Silver Cap: Awarded to best performing 17 year old in each department
The Golden boot: Awarded to the
topscorer in each department

The Platinum Ball: Awarded to best performing player in each league
The Platinum Boot: Awarded to topscorer in each league

- The manager is awarded with 1.000.000 and 3 credits for each award one of his players get.
- The Platinum Ball and The Platinum Boot gets awarded with 2.000.000 and 10 creds.
- Getting a Platinum award precludes a player from receiving any other award ie if a player receives the Platinum Boot then he will not receive the Platinum Ball nor the Golden Boot nor the relevant Top Player Award (generally the Silver Boot).
- The awards are given out after the last 21:00-training of the season. This is the training just before the 09:00 training when the season change occur.

Transfers:

"This player does not wish to move to your club until he is better." - Your team avg. is more then 9 points higher then the player's Q.
"This player does not wish to move to your club until the team has improved." - Your team avg. is 9 (sometimes 10) points less then the player's Q.

Taxes:

Taxes are paid during the season change. Taxes are only paid for profit over 2 mill, according to following table.

2 mill profit: No tax on these 2 mill.
2-5 mill profit = 10% taxes            (300k)
5-10 mill profit = 20 % taxes         (1 mill)
10-20 mill profit = 30% taxes        (3 mill)
20-50 mill profit = 40% taxes        (12 mill)
Above 50 mill profit = 50% taxes

The way the taxes are calculated are the following:
With a profit at 60 mill you pay: Zero on the first 2 mill, 10% on the next 5 mill, 20% on the next 5 mill, 30% on the next 10 mill, 40% in the next 30 mill and since you got 10 mill over 50 you pay 50% of those 10 mill.
This would equal: 300k + 1 mill + 3 mill + 12 mill + 5 mill = 21.3 mill in taxes.

If you got 12 mill in profit you would get 300k + 1 mill + 600k (30% of the 2 mill over 10) = 1.9 mill

Vip boxes:

1. div: 200 per seat
2. div: 150 per seat
3. div: 100 per seat

- You will not get anyone to the vip boxes if your club is lower then 3. div.
- With 500 vip seats in 3. div you'll get 100 * 500 = 50.000
