Division 4, Here We Come! (05/08/2008 17:45)

Celebrations are continuing in the streets of Dorchester tonight as their Magpies just secured their 2nd promotion in their 5 year history by beating sucker by the very popular score, all 3 playoff games were won by it, 2-0. The resurgence of Alfredo Rodriguez has been evident in these playoffs as he played all 3 games and scored 3 of the team's 6 goals, including the promotion clincher in the 47th minute. Rodriguez might play less of a role in the future, but he has made sure his stamp has been placed on this team. "I honestly hope he can keep up like this for many years to come," said manager T.K. Bomber. "He is the reason that we are Division 4 bound even after sitting on the bench most of the second half of the year. All I can say is when he retires, I'll vote for him to be entered into the Dorchester FC Hall of Fame."

Coach Bomber's road to this title came in his first season back from his self-imposed hiatus last season for personal issues that the team has not disclosed. He looks forward to the challenges that are up ahead for his team. "This will not be easy, trying to stay up in Division 4," he said. "We are no longer the big fish in a small pond like we were in 5/62, we are a small fish in a very big pond. If we can survive our first year in International 4/16, I'm confident we'll stay there until the team is good enough to be promoted again. However, we'll have to fight with everything we have to keep this spot right now and I promise we will."
