One Game to Live for Dorchester FC (06/06/2008 19:19) |
The twenty-first win of the season came on a goal in the 85th minute and gave Dorchester FC a too close for comfort 1-0 win over Liverpool Niggaz. This win combined with huse mitt's huge defensive effort in a 0-0 draw against Pool Man sets up the biggest game in Dorchester since last year's Department Cup Final against InSaNiTy. If the Magpies can win at Old Anfield, they will advance to the playoffs. If they get either a draw or a loss they will have to wait another season for an opportunity for promotion. With the weekend break resulting in an extended period of time in between this game, both teams will be preparing for the biggest match of the season. "All I can say is that we will be prepared for this match-up as best as humanly possible," said manager T.K. Bomber. "This is what we played our entire season for, and the extra break helps us out quite a bit. Our coaching staff feels as though it has found a weakness in the Pool Man method of attack and we hope we can exploit this weakness in our game." The players know that their previous win at the halfway point of the season will mean next to nothing in the rematch. "While we gave Pool Man their first taste of defeat, we know how hard it is to beat a team of their caliber twice in one year," said veteran striker Alfredo Rodriguez. "Their crowd will be rocking Old Anfield and they know as much as we do what this game means for their season. There is no way they will play it safe, trying to get a draw and advance. They'll come out full guns blazing trying to destroy us as a warm-up for the playoffs. All I can say is that we don't intend on making this game their warm-up, we intend on making this game their last one this season." The winner of this game will face IFK Liverpool in the first round of the playoffs. Dorchester FC drew at The Park at Dorchester 2-2 and lost at Anfield (Blogger's note: Two Liverpool fans in one International Department is too many.) 3-0. We will bring you the result of that game as soon as we possibly can. |
