Season 36 International 5/62 2nd Weekend Roundup (31/05/2008 20:10) |
In response to my last blog was sent in by Marcus Zolcan. He showed me Romania Division 4 Department 64 as an example so if you guys want to check that one as an example outside International Division 5 go right ahead. For one of the few times in my life, I honestly have no idea what to write on. I could do what I did last week, but I hate repeating myself in the same season. (Blogger's note: I'm thinking of doing that in the 2nd Weekend Roundup instead of the first and doing a round-up of the interesting scores during the first week. We'll see how long I keep that idea before it goes away.) I couldn't wait for the weekend to post my "Will 20 Wins be Enough for Playoffs" blog which took away any main story I had. So what will I write about? I'll split it into 2 parts. 1.) International 5/62 Department Cup. The upsets of last year in the Department have mostly been non-existant this season as four of the top five teams are in the semi-finals. Here are the match-ups and how I feel they will go Of Per Zia vs. Dorchester FC Of Per Zia won the two team's previous match-up in an exciting 2-1 match-up. Games between these two clubs usually are pretty exciting and affairs that are worth the price of admission. Even with recent form from Dorchester FC, I do not see them moving on to their second straight Department Cup Final, though I see this game going to a shootout. Predicted score Of Per Zia 1 Dorchester FC 1 (Of Per Zia wins 3-2 on penalties) Pool Man vs Fenix The one result from Pool Man from Fenix I have access to shows Fenix beating Pool Man 2-1 on the road. Fenix has been undefeated this season and even against a team as strong as Pool Man, I do not see them losing in such an important match Predicted score: Fenix 3 Pool Man 1 2.) How are they doing now? Seven teams last year left International 5/62 either through promotion or demotion. Here are their results through 19 games. (numbers are last year's standings in 5/62) 1. InSaNiTy 7th place in 4/16 9-4-6 31 points 2. Flying Snails 5th place in 4/16 10-5-4 35 points 12. Lura IL 3rd place in 6/247 10-7-2 37 points 13. FL Telsiai 1st place in 6/245 15-2-2 47 points 14. ForzaRBK 3rd place in 6/246 9-7-3 34 points 15. matchteam fc 1st place in 6/247 13-5-1 44 points 16. Sunhill 4th place in 6/248 11-5-3 38 points Good to see that all of the demoted teams are in the fight once again to get back up and that it will not be a one season and back down for either promoted club. Keep up the good work guys. There will be a blog sometime in the next couple of days about something going on with Dorchester FC. I will not say what it is, but it will change this team. For better or for worse, I have no idea, but let's just say it's been on my mind this season and I made my decision. |
