Dorchester FC moves on in Department Cup (23/04/2008 17:38)
After 120 minutes of play could not separate Dorchester FC and FC Telsiai in their Department Cup game, penalty kicks saved the day as Dorchester FC won 6-5 (3-2 penalties). Here is how the penalties went

Dorchester FC                                                                                     FC Telsiai                                                  ( X = made, O = missed)
Alfredo Rodriguez   X                                                                          Mantas Lapeikis       X
Freddie Gamble     O                                                                          Laisvydas Stancius  O
Claude Simmons   X                                                                          Marius Sidlauskas   O

Edgar Blackwell     O                                                                           Saulius Ragauskas O

The win came at the perfect time for Dorchester FC, who was reeling from an 0-2-2 league start. The players hope this is the game that turns the season around. "We needed this win pretty badly," said midfielder Allen Page. "This was a total team effort and it was a message to the league that we will not just lie down like what our previous record up here showed." He declined to make any further remarks about his possible transfer depending on how the team does in the early third of the season.
Manager T.K. Bomber was excited about his team's result. "This game came down to who wanted it more, so I'm proud that we won that game. Management was whispering to me how these cup games bring us extra revenue then the league games, so they wanted us to get at least into Round 2. Personally, to me every game we play is important so to get the result was sweet on two levels."

The next opponent for Dorchester FC in the cup is Tanjong Pagar FC. If the results of this round details what type of match we're in for next round, the game between these two teams will be an exciting, high scoring affair. Tanjong beat traeff fc, who are undefeated in the league, 5-4 (4-3 penalties) to advance.
