S88...A Historic Moment (04/06/2012 09:02)

4 June 2012, Season 88, will be marked as a memoriable day for Rojak Ravagers FC as we see the club won it's first ever Division One League Title in the club's relative short history.

A series of unbelievable results against the league giants on the first two weeks stringed up an incredible run of form before losing a bit of momentum starting with the loss in League Cup and subsequent defeat in the hands of western derby rival Stay With Kop.

Just as hope seems to fade away, the players pressed on and bounced back with another series of shocking results against the league giants to pull slightly ahead of the title race.

The last match of the season was a tense encounter away from home with Zola Team. A match which will decide the title as RR and scratch are only seperated by merely a point with goal difference in favor of scratch.

Before the kick off...pre-match interview

"Team Selection had never been so difficult in my entire life!"  manager Eddar.

"We must stay focused!" club veteran Jill Valentine

The players played to their fullest and they know at the final whistle, they were truly the champions of Season 88.

Post match interview.....

"Wonderful experience! Glad to win the title for the club at the twilight of my playing career!" Jill Valentine

"Mew!!" Top scorers Kiity Softpaws and Puss In Boots

" I almost had a heart attack! The ambulance was ready anytime!" manager Eddar

"Free rojak for all RR fans!" Club Chairman Mr Jin Ho Jiat

S80....A season of surprise (25/10/2011 04:54)

Hello everybody

It's been a long time since my last blog entry and it's time for you all to read my pathetic english for one more time.

Season 80 had been a season of surprise for the Singapore League and of course a wonderful report club for my club Rojak Ravagers formerly know as Shifters FC.

Since the formation of the Singapore League, top honors were shared among the big three which are scratch, Watever and TMS FC. However, Season 80 mark a new chapter in the Singapore League as Fantastic 19 had successfully won the league by the tightest of margin ever in the SIngapore League history. Apart from that, Fantastic 19 is also in the League Cup Final, a potential chance to win the double in his maiden title season. This is all possible thanks to big money spending from Fantastic 19 dated back to Season 78 and earned the new nickname of  "MC(Manchester City) Forever " among the Singaporean managers. Well, this BPL season might belongs to Manchester City, who knows? LOL

Stay With Kop(SWK)'s red hot striker Diego Maradona had been leading the world division 1 scoring charts with 46 goals, i believe that's a first for the Singapore League as well.

Watever's star midfielder Derek Bryan finally reached Q97 in this season, possibly the highest Q player of nationality Singapore ever produced in our relative short history.

When can our league have players with actual local names??

After some poor team and GK performances in pre-season friendlies/cups, it turns out to be a good season for my club as well.

  • Survived a consecutive 2nd season in the division 1.
  • Finished in 7th position, that was unexpected.
  • 3 more players hitting the Q90 mark
  • Finishing the season with a positive goal difference, another unexpected outcome.

Towards the end of season, a local business tycoon which sells Rojak exclusively had expressed an interest in Shifters FC and became the club's new chairman. Hence the club will be renamed as Rojak Ravagers(RR). He will be looking into expanding the club's pathetic ground of 35k seaters into a truly division one standard ground and of course the youth facilities.

For Season 81,

Season 81 will still be a tough one for RR, as main GK Grey had made close to zero improvement and possibly begin the new season with an even lower stats.

Evergreen defender Al-Abarta is also considering retirement which means a loss of a reliable defender in the already low Q defensive department. Hopefully Koga and Wong can step up while the club searches for capable replacement.

Immediate priority for RR is still to survive in the division 1.

S75...First Week Round Up (22/05/2011 09:14)

9 rounds had been played for the first week of Season 75. Surprisingly I found myself on the upper half of the league table, OMG!

The team started brightly but the form faded away towards the end of the week, can Graveyard Shifters continue to make a surprising run in the Div 2?????

End of the week, Graveyard Shifters was fifth in the table with a credible 5 wins, 3 draws and 1 loses. Seems to me the veterans i purchased at the beginning of the season is proving their worth!

First Week Summary

Rnd 1 - It was a tense game against the WhiteWolf for the first match in Div 2, having lost both home and away matches against the Wolves in my first run in Div 2. Four players made their debut for Graveyard Shifters. Keeper Knudsen made a poor start , conceding 2 goals with a performance of 39. Midfielder Huselkepp and defender Al-Sha'rani performed decently well on their debut respectively. The game ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from debutant striker Raul Quesada and substitute Indra. Top scorer of last season Hyori, ended the match with a disappointing performance.

Rnd 2 - Next was my first home game against Team AMK. Knudsen redeem himself from his poor debut game, earning himself a clean sheet and a performance of 69. Quesada and substitute Hyori was rather tame in their shooting in this game, however Indra who earned himself a place in the starting eleven after his goal in the last match helped himself to a splendid hat trick, looks like he is sealing his spot in the first eleven this season!

Rnd 3 and 4 - The next 2 away games saw Kundsen and Huselkepp stepping up their game with Chiam and Malek providing some nice assists from the flank which create 2 goals for Indra in each game and 1 goal from Quesada.

Rnd 5 - This round saw the slip in form from Graveyard Shifters with a disappointing home lost against Brandon United. Indra, Al-Sha'rani and Aide was not in their best game. The match was lost by a missed penalty by Quesada who has been dismal in his penalty taking so far.

Rnd 6 - This match was against table topper SnareLK FC. SnareLK was in every compartment better than Graveyard Shifters and this draw was a marvelous result in my opinion. I have absolutely zero shots on goals despite playing a defensive 4-3-3 LOL! However, Kundsen, Al-Sha'rani, Indra, Malek and Barth performed wonderfully marshalled by MOM Huselkepp kept SnareLK at bay. OMG Kundsen is turning out to be a bargin buy for just 4.5mil.

Rnd 7,8 and 9 - The last 3 matches all saw average performances from the team which saw a lucky Quesada goal earning the win against Athletic and 2 lucky penalties by Indra earning the win against Retro.

S75...a tough season ahead (16/05/2011 19:40)

Season 75 had started!

For this season, I am once again back in Division 2! Only 1 bot team in my department and of course, no lack of teams with Q80+.

I would expect a tough season ahead, most probably languishing once again in the relegation zone. Nonetheless, I had made some preparations to see if my team is able to stay up in this division.

I had purchased four veteran players, one per position and all of them are of higher Q than my current squad of players.

Sverre Knudsen  GK   Age36   Q81  Norway

 Isa Al-Sha'rani   DEF  Age34   Q82   Afghanistan

Erik Huseklepp   MID   Age33   Q82   Norway

Raul Quesada   ATT   Age31   Q83   Argentina

Lastly, a 17 year old young Japanese defender is also added by the game. 5 star rated.

Noriya Daikawa   DEF   Age17   Japan

Aim of this season - To survive and stay in the 2nd Division!

Player Retirement

Grigore Stefanescu had announced his retirement at the age of 35 from professional football at the beginning of the season.

He was purchased in Season 72 and played total of 72 matches for the club and scoring a total of 42 goals. He was the best performing striker of the club during the last run in the 2nd Division.

End of Season 74 Report Card (09/05/2011 07:27)

Season 74 had finally came to an end! Promotion to Division 2!

Division 3, as usual in the Singapore League, this division had a high percentage of bot teams or teams abandoned by their managers. That being said, it is hard to say the team has performed well. I would just say i'm satisfied.

Next Season, i will start in Division 2 once again after gaining promotion. Time to get wacked left right and center by the Q80s teams in division 2.

My team is currently Q77 at the end of season 74 and will most probably be expected to start next season @ Q76...still not enough to give the Q80s a fight.

Season 74 - Team Q77

Team Summary

Goalkeepers

  • First choice GK Gustav Kiss hasjust conceded 2 goals this season, however being in a division with bot teams...this doesn't count much an achievement. His slow gain in stats is also worrying, i wonder if i should give the youngster a try next season.
  • Youngster Ivanoski has gained 3Qs this season and look quite promising despite the low passing and speed stats.

Defenders

  • 34 yr old Torfinn Barth once again perform well in the FB position while 22 yr old Borhan is also performing relatively well in the FB position.
  • Glenda and Captain Aide have been performing fairly well in the CB positions throughout the season, however will they perform well against the Q80s next season? Strange enough, they provide more assists than the FBs.....-__-"
  • 36 yr old Ranko Ognjenovic once again is disappointing and would most likely to be fielded in friendlies to make up the numbers or to be sold/released.
  • 23 yr old Kadir has improved fast this season, however performance is inconsistent. In Season 73, he performed better in CB than FB, this time round it is the opposite.......can he make up his mind where he wants to play?
  • Youngster Madoka has improved well(+3Q) and has a fairly consistent performance in CB in the friendlies and league.

Midfielders

  • Once again, my 2 promising young midfielders since i started the game had been outstanding, with Chiam providing 43 assists and Malek providing 24 assists. Had no doubts these 2 midfielders would be starting every game if possible next season.
  • 36 yr old Filip Mattsson had a wonderful season netting 21 goals and 17 assists. How would he perform in Division 2 next season? His last performance in Division 2 is just average tho.
  • Sad to say, veteran Tommy Ostebo and youngsters Nazri and Rafi are just average performers. Jim Duredant would most likely be released.
  • Youngster Bell is also improving fast(+4Q), fairly balanced tackling and shooting, however low on speed.

Attackers

  • After a disappointing season 73 in the division 2, 20 yr olds Hyori and Zul had been wonderful this season. Will they score against the higher Q teams next season? or would they flop again in division 2? We shall see.....i don't have high hope.
  • 35 yr old Stefanescu had proven his worth despite appearing from the bench for most part of the season, 34 yr old Jarni is pretty much inconsistent.
  • 17 yr old Salleh is a late addition to the team, still has a long way to tell if he could do well. Lets hope he can improve his shooting stats fast.

Player Awards

Hyori - Golden Boot(44 goals), Silver Boot(perf 74)

Chiam See Tong - Golden Statuette (perf 84)

Season 74...new faces...Div 3... (19/04/2011 14:16)

Season 74, back to Division 3 after a stint in the Division 2.

At the beginning of the season, i was hoping to find some Q80 players between the age of 25-28 to add to my team, however, that did not work out....not enough money .

Hence, with the 36mil i gathered for 3 seasons, I decided to look for the youngsters. Unfortunately it coincides with the DNS servers problem which causes many of ML players not being able to log in to the game.

By the time i log in, it seems that there's isn't much 17yr olds left which i like (heh, maybe i just sucks in using the search function), hence i had to go for the 18yr olds.

Managed to find a keeper and a defender....a striker would have to wait, those two had already cost all my fortune.

Together with the free youth player every season, these are the three new players for Season 74.

Nikolai Ivanoski - Macedonia - GK - Rated 5 stars.

Kazumasa Kamimura - Japan - DEF - Rated 4.5 stars.

David Bell - Singapore - MID - Rated 2 stars initially, increased to 4 stars after a few friendlies.

As usual, my 2.5 stars midfielder is still the best performer after 2 games LOL!

Stars are overrated???

Reality hurts...Season 73 (13/04/2011 11:07)

This is the page for Graveyard Shifters, started in late Season 71, playing only 6 games in Season 71, and promoted to 3rd division in a blink.

Season 72, another season in a league filled with 90% bot teams, everything went fine.....scoring in every match, thrashing every bot team along the way. Another promotion to 2nd division at the end of season. Life is good!

Season 73, the real test begins for this young team.......

In the 2nd division, the league is filled with teams average Q80 and above. Me being Q73 at the beginning of the season, i know i would pretty much end up at the bottom half. However, it appears that i am also losing against the few teams which are close and lower than my team Q...OMFG!

Thanks to advice from the peeps in the forum, i finally made a few satisfiable results...including a few draws against the top teams in the league. However, i failed in the last two matches to make a push for the playoff spot......that being said, i would have to start at division 3 next season.

Along the way, this young team often concedes goals in the dying minutes in a tight match, the strike force which had been good during the 3rd division is almost non-existance....in my own language " JI TAO CUI"...............

i also realise....the other teams have players in the age range of 24-29 and they performed really well as compared to mine(my youth in the range of 17-20 and oldies in the 30s) with the same player Q...maybe the fact is most of potential players hasn't reached the peak??

Team @end of Season 73...team Q76

Defend

Despite the lower average Q of my defenders, i am fairly happy with avg perf of them....lowest 51 to highest 61....i intended to play the 2 oldies as CB, but both failed miserably and seems to perform better as FB.....

Midfield

My 2 young 19 yr old midfielders are improving well with 2.5 stars rated Malek Awab improving at amazing speed and churning out amazing performance despite my team poor results. The 5 stars rated Eddar had been rotating between wide and central midfield roles with inconsistent results, can't seem to find any suitable roles for him though. The other 2 youths are also gaining well, hopefully they will play a major part for the upcoming seasons.

Attack

This is the most disappointing area in my team in my opinion, the cheaply acquired 34 yr old romanian is outperforming every single strikers that i have....

Goalkeeper

Pretty much i can't point my fingers to Kiss other than a few dismay displays.

For the next season........

i intended to purchase another striker hopefully with the limited funds available to me.....or pray hard that the 2 x 19 yr olds will mature after their stint in the 2nd division.

i would also be aiming to add a better younger defender into the team.......

and pls forgive my bad english and grammar.

If any veterans happened to read this and would like to give suggestions to my team, please do so and help me improve!
