Developer Diary, Part 2 (14/02/2009 21:19) |
In the last Developer Diary, I mentioned what areas we are we are working on, and what our goals are for the coming update. In this second part, I will stick to a single topic, which is Transfers. It can be very frustrating to wait for a bid to be accepted, but it can be equally frustrating to find out exactly how much a player will cost you. Often, players may drown in a search-result, and so we will try to make it a bit easier for everyone, by adding a new kind of feature. We already have something called "minimum bid" which is a number you can set for all of your players, and anyone trying to bid below this amount, will simply see the message "This bid is too low" or something along those lines. Now, we are introducing a new number you can set as a manager yourself when placing a player on the transfer-market: Auto-sell amount (for the lack of a better name). Basically, it you set this to be 100.000.000 $, any bid above this number will ensure the transfer will go through wether or not the seller clicks the accept-button. Also, the bid can not be rejected, or withdrawn! So once the auto-accept offer has been made, it will go through, automatically, when the designated time-limit has passed. (Today, this is 16 hours, but it seems we might change it to 12). Hopefully this will help both buyers and sellers alike, in a tough transfer-market. One thing to note, is that we have moved everything that has to do with bids, offers, marking players for sale, raising your bids, setting or changing the minimum-bid and auto-accept value, from the same section of the game, to make it easier to keep track of what is going on. The initial bid must still be placed at the Player-Details popup like before, but after that, everything is taken care of from the "My Transfers" section. A work-in-progress partial screenshot can be seen below. That's it for this edition of the Developer Diary. Comments are welcome and critics are ignored :) Have a nice weekend! PS: Next week contains another season-change, so I might skip the Developer Diary, or delay it, depending on the workload here at HQ. On behalf of everyone at ManagerLeague HQ - Spinner |
