Season 38 Version II <--Back
picThanks to the vibrant and communicative community here at ManagerLeague, I got just the effect I was after when I presented the changes for the new season:
Comments and feedback while there was still time to consider the changes.
And so, here are the REVISED changes for Season 38

* To limit the extreme player-speculation, we have implemented a new limit: You may not place a player on the transfer-market until you have owned him for 14 days.
* Due to creative players who managed to go around our previous limit on credit donations, we have re-enforced the limit and changed it to: You may only donate a total of 200 credits per season, and you may only receive (from donations) a total of 200 credits per season.
* A flaw has been fixed in the match-simulator, which might have trained players beyond their potential. The actual effect of this is hard to predict, but it seems that their learning-ability might have been overwritten with too high values in the actual simulator. The fix will not affect players with a very high learning-ability / potential.
* Friendly Match income limit reduced from 300.000 to 250.000 to help combat inflation of the economy.
* Fortune-tax has been increased from 1 to 2.5 percent. No fortune tax is paid if you have less than 100 millions.
* The RULES have been updated to better control attempts of abuse with transfers, and to clearify what is allowed and not. You will receive an ingame message about this change to make sure you know about the details. The added rule is: Attempts of manipulating the transfer-market is strictly forbidden. Examples of such manipulation are Selling players to other than the highest bidder due to some "agreement", Placing artificially high bids to drive up the price or move money between teams, and Accepting artificially high bids to move money between teams.

The overall goal of the changes:
- Ensure a more fair transfer-market
- Limit the inflation
- Stop the increasing price on players
- Prevent the extreme credit-deals involving more than 200 credits
- Prevent cheating and manipulation in the transfer-market

Please note that we once again show that we are willing to make changes to the game that will actually lower our income, for the interest of the game and fairness

With these adjustments, I hope we will achieve our goals, at least bring us in the right direction. During next season I will be working on a number of Simulator-upgrades, to add some missing things and improve om some existing ones.
Best of luck in the season to come, and keep having a nice summer!

pictureLooks iike good changes!
But this one;
* To limit the extreme player-speculation, we have implemented a new limit: You may not place a player on the transfer-market until you have owned him for 14 days.

Would have liked it more if it was in the same season instead of 14 days. With this rule teams can still sweep the market for 17yolds at the start of the season and sell tham at the end....

picturejust wondering how this is gonna work with the 17yo we all get. Since they aint on the team for 14 days yet, does that mean we cant sell our 17yo for the first 14 days?

picturewe can actually sell our new youth so this is cool
and i think the fact that we can also sell players after 14 days is good to as new teams can make money this way and move up the ladder
and also the credits is another cool fix

thanks for listening to all our opinions spinner

pictureThese rules arent the same ones advertised in the preview! It's totally stupid to publicize changes adn not do the changes as advertised.

Lowering anti-speculation rules than advertised and raising taxes higher than warned.

It's not fair. While I do realize that you want to accommodate as many people as possible, your rule changes were not presented as 'proposals' but as faits accompli. I don't want to seem to be complaining because I think 14 days is a pretty good compromise but I've had high taxes because I couldn't afford to buy a decent player despite bidding on about a dozen this year and I have well over 100 million in savings. I'm being punished too.

I legitimately tried to buy a player but even when I wasn't speculated out of the market, a weird glitch kept making my bids disappear without so much as a message to my box. And of course Xontos is being obstructive and belligerient toward me and won't even look at the issue to see if it was user (i.e. my) error or if there's a glitch somewhere that wouldn't provide me with a message saying my bid was no longer high enough or another bid was taken by the seller or the like.

picture"* Fortune-tax has been increased from 1 to 2.5 percent. "

I saw there was something. Have like 20m in fortune-tax this season.

But its great, more money OUT!

Nice work Spinner, everything looks fine!

By : Conja Summerlinalternate proposal for fortune tax   13:12 11/07 2008
pictureWhy don't we have 1% from 100-150 million, 2% from 150.000.001 to 200.000.000 and 2.5% from 200.000.001 to 250.000.000 and 3% from 250.000.001 and up?

and what about lowering the lowest regular tax bracket's taxes or raising the untaxable income slot to 3 million?

I know the first proposal will take some programing and might not be practicable but raising the lowest taxed slot to 3 million is an easy fix and will help newer clubs and encourage them to save a little.

pictureI've played some friendlies without improving my players at least 1 hability point... going like that, at the end of the season maybe my team will get (+25)
