As always, development and time is moving forward, but with just one developer and a living, shifting and vibrant community, we sometimes have to reorder our priorities. Some planned features will have to be delayed, making room for other improvements in stead.
Bad news first
I like to start with the bad news, and here they are:
We have decided to delay the startup of our own champions League and Cup Winner Cups.
The reason is that we are about to bring several new leagues into play shortly, and we would like these to be part of Champions League from the start too.
Also, the current top divisions still have a number of "bot-teams" in them, influencing the results with extremely many goals scored.
So, for now, Champions League and other "Multi-national events" will be delayed for a while.
New players!
We have also gotten a number of reports of being somewhat "unfriendly" to new users, in terms of complexity, lack of information, lack of translated information, and so we will take some steps to deal with this. We have asked a number of persons to sign up, and report their thoughts step by step as the progress through their first 15 minutes with ManagerLeague and gotten some rather interesting results. The thing is, far too many new users leave during their first couple of days due to this, and so we regard this as a serious flaw. We have set our goals in terms of growth, and to make sure we get "more bang per buck" spent on advertising, we need to make sure we do not scare away new users early.
Key issues to be solved here are:
- Get a translated manual up and running in several languages
- Streamline the entire signup-process with multiple languages
- Redesign the community portal and make sure everything on it is translated (except the blogs and articles of course) and reduce the amount of text in return for a nicer layout
- Make sure we have a Step By Step Tutorial, also translated, clearly visible
There are other issues dealing with this as well, but this gives you a nice idea of what we are doing over the next weeks.
The transfer-market
Furthermore, the situation we have seen developing in the transfer-market needs dealing with, one way or another. We have some ideas on this, that we will share with you when we are ready, but now is not the time.
The economy
Also, and connected to the above point, the entire financial balance needs to be looked at, so you should expect some changes here or there!
Cheating, tsk tsk
Furthermore, we still see a lot of new users (and some old ones) trying to cheat with both multiple teams , sacking and buying, silly transfers and more, and we will improve the tools we work with to prevent this, to catch them sooner, and to shut them down.
We spend hundreds of hours every season working with shutting down cheaters, and we close roughly 1000 teams every season, although most of them are just bogus accounts set up only to take part in a cheat-attempt. We will never be able to prevent ALL cheating, so it is important that we catch the onces that makes it as soon as possible. So, more work to be laid down in the anti-cheating department.
More leagues are coming!
As I mentioned, we are going to add some more leagues soon as well, probably 7 actually, but we are still taking some time to decide just which. You will know as soon as we do.
Open friendlies
We will also implement a whole new system for Open Friendlies, as the current system does not work and is overloading our servers by hundreds of people hitting F5 all the time when the league-round has been simulated. We do not want this to go on, it is just messy and it makes the site slow when it really shouldn't be. So ok, you greedy lot who sits there refreshing your friendlies page like crazy, congratulations, you forced our hand and we will adapt accordingly.
All lights are green!
That said though, we are happy to say the the number of teams and managers keep climbing, we see increased traffic every single week, and a lot of things are looking promising for the future of ManagerLeague. The sky is the limit, indeed!
More bandwidth = More speed
We have just ordered more bandwidth too, so we can serve you better, even during peak-load. The bandwidth used has been maxed out in brief periods between 15.30 and 16.00 on weekdays (Hello, Open Friendlies!) and even though we are fixing the friendlies, we are upgrading our connection! So now you know where the money from purchased credits go!
My team...
Personally, I am struggling a bit in the Norwegian Div 2 Dep 4, but I hope to land some nice victories in the second half of the season. I also have an exciting league Cup match tonight, which I intend to win! I suggest you do the same!

nice work indeed spinner! but i do have a question...
when playing other teams.. i notice there s no improvement on my team when my opponent get one or more red card (meaning they should be playing with one or more players banned from the game!) i wonder if the banish player are simply replaced or if it s not consider in the game play. any other noticed the same?
but over all , it s a great job done by the admin team! keep it up

 | greetings - brand new manager here and i would like to comment on the fact that after 2 days wading through the menus and FAQ's and tutorials i've finally got a grip on the ML system... it is a little complicated, but i hope that my hard work pays off as the team i'm setting up is starting to win. great game, good luck with the remodel.
