Once again, it is time to look forward towards a new season. This Thursday, in Round 37, the servers will go down as usual, and season 22 is over. Some time before Friday morning, the game will be available again, and season 23 will begin with training on Monday morning, as usual. Congratulations are in order! The team Lightning, in our top divison, has finally managed to clinch the title! He has been in Division 1 for 9 seasons now, and we at HQ would like to congratulate Just4Fun with his fantastic result! Also, A-Tack (Rachel) managed to secure the silver. A-Tack ended on 3rd last season, and so climbed one step up the ladder. Can they keep climbing and secure the title next year? Sparta Rotterdam secured the bronze, in their second season in the top division, so well done on that (they did manage to steal the silver last year in an amazing finish, that was an even bigger accomplishment!) On a side-note here, this means that the top 3 teams have a Norwegian team at the top, and 2 Dutch teams just underneath! Could this indicate the the Norwegian grasp on the top division is failing? We shall see if Norway can actually keep their hands on the title next season or not! Golangutta, THE POWER KNIGHTS, OmenMordaciousKickers and Vartdal FK did not do that great this season, and will be relegated into division 2. Two-time league champions Vartdal FK is going through a bit of a generation-shift in his team, and promises to return in a few season to secure more titles! Stovner Massive, Svenmania and Høynes United are already guaranteed promotion into the top division, while Ballistic United and Eggs Army must wait until after the 30th round to see who will get the direct promotion. Playoffs In rounds 31-33 the playoffs will be played, and so we will know all the teams promoting and relegating by then, and we would like to wish everyone good luck in the process. Other things worth mentioning Congratulations are in order to Weston Utd in Division6 Department 535 for having the Top Scorer in the whole league. Andrew Edwards has scored no less than 79 league-goals in the 29 matches played so far, and that is quite an accomplishment. We see that bids have already been placed, so he might change club before next season, we shall see. Joad Guevara is our leagues best performing player through this season, with an average performance of 87 over 26 played matches! Well done SoonIF for getting the most out of him! Also, keep an eye out for Raul Condesso, a 17 year old from Team H-19 who has played 20 matches with an average performance of 70. He is going to be a hot commodity next season, no doubt! The Season-change The most boring season-change ever! This time around, there will be, as announced, NO changes what so ever. We are very busy working on the implementation of National Leagues, and as planned, we knew this would take longer than a few weeks to complete. Hopefully we can begin testing next week, and so be ready for Season 24, but until then, all the code is undergoing work and no updates can be installed. When the time comes though, there is a lot more to look forward to than just the national leagues, plenty of other improvements are being worked into the new version, just you wait and see This will be a great summer! Anyway, back to this season-change: The schedule is, not surprising in any way, as follows: Thursday May 17th after training : The game is unavailable while we end the season and prepare the new season. Thursday May 17th some time in the afternoon / evening : The game is once again available and we are in Season 23. The weekend Custom cups are played as usual Monday morning, May 21st The first training in season 23 happens at 09:00. Monday afternoon, May 21st The first league-,atch in season 23 happens at 15:00. From that point and onwards, it business as usual, and a full schedule will be posted. Congrats to everyone who performed well this season, and good luck to everyone for the next one! |
