Going from Season 19 to Season 20 Season 19 is now more or less behind us, and we are looking ahead towards the next one. First of all, there are many new players with us now, so here is a little explanation of the phase we are in right now, and what happens during a season-change: The change of seasons - On Thursday morning, the last training of the season begins at 09:00 in the morning. - Once that training is complete, the game starts the season-change. - At this point, the game is unavailable for the rest of that day. - On friday, you can once again log in, and then you will find your team ready and waiting for you, and a brand new youth-player ready to prove his worth on your team. - During the weekend, there are plenty of Custom Cups to join, if you want to, they are played from 12:00 with matches every 30 minutes, on both Saturday and Sunday. - On Monday, Season 20 begins with training at 09:00 in the morning. The first league-match is played at 15:00. Then there is training again at 21:00 and a match at 03:00 Tuesday morning. Season 19 Champions Our new League Champion is Ca2, manager of Man United Senior. In an extremely close race against ddude, they ended up at an even number of points, but with Man United Senior having a much better goal difference. So for the first time in the history of ManagerLeague, the League Chapmpion won on goals and not points. Well done to both Ca2 and ddude, and congratulations on your first Championship, Ca2! The League Cup final seems to be a true "battle of the giants" between Vartdal FK and Blackpool, both former League Champions and League Cup champions. We eagerly await to see who will run off with the Trophy, and wish you both good luck! Improvements and more Once again, a lot of work has gone into improving ManagerLeague even more, and we are proud to present the following list of changes, news and improvements: 1: New youth-players In previous seasons, new teamless youngsters have entered the transfer-market after training had completed. This gave a huge advantage to anyone online at that exact time. This has been changed to make it more fair to everyone. New players are now added at completely random intervals, one by one. 2: Faster training We are now running a brand new simulator for training to be able to "tick" much faster, using more parallell processing and a scalable solution. Nothing has been changed in the training logic, so the results should be just like before, just faster. 3: Mobile addition The mobile interface (point your mobile phone towards mob.managerleague.com) has received a "Change Formation" function on the tactics page. 4: More speed The training, salaries, stadium-upgrades tick is now much faster. 5: Sponsor income for the top 2 divisions The amounts from the sponsors has been changed a bit for Div 1 (UPWARDS) and Div 2 (upwards). The other divisions have not been changed. 6: New Rankings We have 4 new ranking-pages under RANKINGS in the menu. - Record Transfers - League Champions - League Cup Champions - Custom Cup Champions All of these ranking-lists include the history back from Season 1 and until now. They do NOT include teams that are no longer playing. 7: $ = For sale Added $-sign in the player ranking-lists for those who are listed for sale to make it easier to see who is and who isn't. 8: Newspaper fix #1 Fixed the news-page to avoid showing Department Cups under Recent Cups. 9: Newspaper fix #2 Increased the max-length of newspaper articles. You can now post far more than the former limit of 1024 characters. 10: Cup Menu The Menu has been restructured, giving CUPS its own menu. 11: Department Cup Added a Department Cup section (under the new Cups-menu) so you can keep a better eye on your Department Cup. 12: Omen Gaming Marketplace Added link to Omen Player MarketPlace (a third-party tool to assist with transfers made by our friends at Omen Gaming) in the Transfer-menu. 13: Log-system Various modifications have been made to our logging-system, which is really of no interest what so ever to all of you, but will save us a lot of time in some of the boring paper-work we have to do. 14: Not for sale All players are now marked NFS (Not For Sale) at the beginning of a new season. This is to prevent an overcrowded transfer-list. 15: Training Camps During previous seasons, the Training Camps have been set to run just after the normal training-ticker was done. It has now been shifted to run on Sunday afternoon at 18:00 (the ones rounds 10, 20 and 30.) The one in round 35 will run at 18:00 the last Wednesday of the season unless otherwise specified. Keep in mind, this will mean that you can chose to rest your players to regain some fitness after playing weekend-cups. 16: Forum-fix Dangling threads and posts should now be correctly removed from the forums every tick. 17: Donating credits to other teams A new method of donating credits to other teams has been implemented, both to make it easier to donate and to avoid cheating and abuse with fake signups and new accounts. The new interface for donating credits is now in the game itself. Just click on a team-name to open the Team Info popup, then click on the new COIN-icon, and a new donation-popup will appear. - You can only donate if you have purchased credits at one time. - You can only donate as long as you have 30 credits + the ones you wish to donate. - You can donate from 1 to 100 credits in one go. 18: Team Selection Bugfix on TEAM SELECTION page (some times, the background-colors were confused) 19: Rename players You are no longer allowed to rename a player to a name you already have on your team. It was quite strange to have a whole team named John Smith! 20: Translations About 250 new sentences / phrases has been added to the translation-system. So far these have only been translates to Norwegian. 21: Translations again 35 minor fixes have been made to various pages in regards to translations. 22: Privacy Policy Our privacy policy has been updated with 1 change: Old text: "We also send out a newsletter now and then, but no more than 6 times per year." New text: "We also send out a newsletter now and then, but no more than 12 times per year." This is due to having the ability to send out a monthly mail about "whats new in ManagerLeague etc". Also, there is a special change here which is only relevant for players from Poland: We are entering a partnership with a company in Poland who will help us market and distribute the game there. In return, they will have access to the user-details of Polish players. More details and specifics will be clear in the updated Privacy Policy, but this is only relevant if you are from Poland. 23: XHTML-fix XHTML-standards fix for all portal smileys (they had a missing ALT-tag!) 24: Forum Moderators Moderators can now edit any post in the forum. This will help us have cleaner and better forums! 25: Injury-icon The Team-info popup now contains the INJURY icon with all players with fitness less than 80. 26: Player-links in Match Reports The Match-Report popup now has links to all the players who are listed in the report. 27: Nasty language A number of smaller fixes in our "nasty language" filter to make it easier for players from Romania. 28: Help! Support! A link to SUPPORT has been added to the ingame menu as well now, for easier access. It's under HELP in the menu, of course. 29: Popups and focus Implemented a forced window-focus on popups so they are not hidden behind other windows by accident. 30: Various Various other small unnoticable fixes, as always! A version of this text will be emailed to you in a newsletter to make sure everyone has read it, specially because the of the change in the Privacy Policy. We hope all these improvements will lead to an even better experience for all of you in ManagerLeague, and we wish you and your team all the best for Season 20.
