Season 16 is near the end.
Seaosn 17 is just around the corner.
When? What? How?
First of all, a big congratulations to Sir Johnny, manager of Vartdal, for his first Championship title. After 12 seasons in the top division, he was finally able to secure it. Well done. Your patience paid off!
Reservoir Dogs, Anum Primera and Blackpool are all relegating directly from the top division, while effort and skill brings ddude, OmenMordaciousKickers, Bavaria Bulldogs and Malmö FF up from Division 2.
With that said, we're looking towards next season.
The schedule looks like this:
Wednesday: Special wednesday cup, check out the Cups page to join.
Thursday: Training at 09:00 as usual, and as soon as that is over, the season is OVER.
At this point, the game goes offline for a while while the various programs that handle a season-change takes over. Teams are promoted, relegated etc, and the game is unavailable for the rest of the day.
At this point, some new features and improvements are added to the game, and on
Friday, the game is once again available.
Then there are cups during the weekend.
Season 17 begins Monday morning at 09:00 with training, followed by the first league ,atch at 15:00. From that point, we are onto our regular schedule, with two training-sessions and two league-rounds per day.
So what's new, borrowed and blue then?
1: Events
For many seasons, I have gotten requests to improve the EVENTS-system a bit.
And now I have. You will notice several improvements over the previous events, like the ability to replace "the poorest performing midfielder" etc.
You can now also plan events to kick in after 105 and 120 minutes, in case you wish to swap some players before that all important penalty shootout in the cup finals.
2: Decay
This highly debated feature has come under revisement once again.
From the start of season 17, you will be able to minotor your "stadium decay" and repair it when you want to, in your stadium-section.
3: New countries and names
I have updated the Russian names to proper Russian names, and added arab names as well, and so increased the number of countries your team can come from. You can change nationality in your ingame Options / Preferences section.
4: Open friendlies
Now fool-proof withdrawal of open challenges rather than a toggle
5: Display fixes on Preferences
6: REMOVED the White skin inside the game. It is being discontinued for now.
7: Authentication optimization (affecting all pages) (non-visual)
This just helps reducing the load on the servers so you all get a faster service.
8: Optimisation on the Friendlies page (non-visual)
Again, just to make sure we perform better during stress-hours (15.00-16.00 and 03.00-04.00)
9: New system for handling nationalities, names and countries
It is now much easier to add countries and name-databases
10 Added countries
Afghanistan, Algerie, Egypt, Gambia, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia
11: Transferlist
Active bids on the transfer-page is now sortable by clicking on the headers
12: General
Latest threads from the forum are now displayed without formatting codes.
13: INFO-text
Better INFO-text on the bottom of most sections in the game.
Looks nice too!
14: Support for different news-feeds on the frontpage. This is not really important right now, but will be once the portal has been re-designed properly.
15: Bugfixes
- Fixed a few minors in the simulator
- Fixed some minors on the General section and the Fixtures section (Play-off results were listed as "League" and not "Playoff" under results)
- Various GUI-related minor improvements
So there we go, I belive that just about sums it up! And if it doesn't, well, we still have a few extra surprises coming yo way during december, so hang tight and find out!

| Really great updates! All of them (except one) is all what I really wanted.
The only thing I think is sad is that the white skin is removed. It makes it alot harder to play ML when one is not supposed to (the white skin is more discrete) :*)
Regarding new countries - I think that any one that sends a list with first names and surnames for a country will have that country added. My guess is that someone has done just that for the countries added (there has been some discussion about it in the forums). |

It's the same reason I use the old style login page rather than the "OMG LOOK I'M LOGGING INTO MANAGERLEAGUE" Ajax one
I understand that the white skin is a secondary backup option rather than the default but I really think there ought to be another option rather than black. |

 | I like all the changes. There is only one that I had hoped would be in there (well, maybe two).
I would have liked an option to substitute my lowest Fitness Def/Mid/Att that has a Fitness less than 95. (I would have like an option to sub for a player with a yellow card as well, but that doesn't matter as much now that my hothead is gone.) I am so tired of watching my players get hacked to pieces and finish the game with an 82 fitness, especially if we go to extra time or shootouts. |
