From Season 9 to 10 <--Back
It is once again that time of month, where one season is over and another begins.
With Benkern finally securing the championship this season, we have had a different champion every season. But it is almost just as hard making it in the second division now, as it is in the first, and my own team had to get a grip just to survive in Div 3!

If you are new to ML, you should be prepared to spend the first seasons just getting to know the game, upgrading your stadium, building your economy and training your players! And if you think it is sad to start in Division 6, with a long way up, well, seasons go by every 4 weeks here in ML, and you need that time to build a decent team, trust me!

Anyway, here is what will happen over the next days when we move from season 9 to 10:

Thursday morning, the game will enter "between-seasons-time". It will remain between seasons most of the day, and come back in the afternoon. Any changes to that plan will be announced here on our portal.
* On Friday, nothing much is going on, other than if you chose to play some friendlies.
* On Saturday and Sunday there are custom cups as always, and watch out for some special cups on Sunday that I will create after we have entered the new season. These cups will be free, but with a limited number of open slots, and there will be one cup per division.
* On Monday at 09.00, Season 10 begins with training and 09.00 and the first league round at 15:00, as usual.

I know we have a track-record of providing a good number of improvements and additions and enhancements with each new season, but as announced earlier, this is not the case for Season 10. There are some fixes, of course, and some system-improvements, and I am still working on the new mobile interface, but that will not be ready in time. Also, with the increased growth in teams we have seen recently, weaknesses in our support-systems have been pointed out, and so, this portal will get a brand new Support-section for dealing with support-requests (from closed teams or anyone with a question in need of support).
We are also working a bit on content-management for the portal, but this is a longer process ahead.
It is no secret that a lot of work is being done by our team of translators, and I hope that some of the new languages can be introduced in the game in season 10.

Let me take this opportunity to thank them for their work!

Thank you! Expect incoming credits!

One thing is sure enough though, we continue to pour work into all aspects of ManagerLeague, to make the game, the site, the community, the service and the experience of being here, better!

I am aiming for promotion back into Div 2 in season 10, so be warned!

Good luck!

pictureYou are quite correct, and it is a valid point. Fewer new things to relate to is good for newcomers, and it gives them a better chance to get into what we already have, which is quite a lot!
ManagerLeague is never meant to be the most advanced and difficult online football manager, just the one with the most fun

pictureGames are meant to be fun, and if its too complex/takes up too much time its far less enjoyable Winky. Not to say we wont be improving things here and there as the seasons progressWinky

pictureOne of the things I would like to see is more depth in what we already have. Perhaps we could add more countries that teams can come from. We are heavy in the European clubs, plus some from the Americas. But as we can see, football is world wide.

Maybe add some teams from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, or Uzbekistan (my preference). If we can have a team from Togo in the World Cup, maybe we can get some teams from elsewhere.

Maybe we can have a few more options on tackling. Or better player substitution options. And if I can change a players name, can I change his nationality? Get me an Uzbek option and TIU will spend the credits.

And maybe we can try a few more options for sponsors. Maybe some that would give vouchers for Training camps? Or if you win your division, get a second youth player?

picturespinner should promote upper division to have big names in real football
such as Beckham, Zidane, Ronaldinho or Lampard
You should bid them for one million or billion...

pictureAll the new stuff in season 9 fit in well so there's no need for anything new. The bugs always get fixed quick around here. It is the online game with the most fun! Now if I can only get more of my fellow Yanks onboard...

The reason for the current "countries" clubs come from is due to the number of countries I have gotten "names" for. If you can get me a list of 100 Arabic firstnames and 100 Arabic lastnames, I will be happy to include Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and whatnot. I don't have a clue about what names to use for a team from Togo, or Uzbekistan for that matter...but if you can help....spinner@managerleague.com is the place to send lists of names!

I think I know what you mean here, about tackling. Like setting the individual players tackling-mode etc...It would certainly make the game a tad more complicated, but I have considered this several times. Not promosing anything, but will have a think again.
As for changing nationality..not a bad idea! I'll bump it on to the tasklist.

And maybe we can try a few more options for sponsors. Maybe some that would give vouchers for Training camps? Or if you win your division, get a second youth player?

Indeed, this would not make the game more complicated, but still give people more options, so thats very good. I have made a note of it, thank you !
